HPM announces scholarship recipients
HPM Building Supply recently awarded five Hawaii Island students with scholarships ranging from $750 to $1,000 toward their higher education.
Through the HPM Foundation, HPM awarded the scholarships to high school and college students who are either planning to attend a University of Hawaii institution or are in their second year of the Hawaii Community College carpentry program. The Hawaii Island students receiving scholarships include:
• Kiana Aniu recently graduated from Kamehameha Schools Hawaii and will be majoring in kinesiology and exercise science at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
• Lehua Cambra recently graduated from Kohala High School and will be majoring in psychology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
• Rayson Domingo graduated from Laupahoehoe Community Public Charter School and is in his second year of the carpentry program at Hawaii Community College.
• Alyssa McKeague graduated from Connections Charter School and is in her second year of the carpentry program at Hawaii Community College.
• Kahlia Takushi recently graduated from Honokaa High School and will be majoring in psychology at Hawaii Community College.
In addition to the Hawaii Island recipients, scholarships were awarded to four others students from across the state.
The annual Barney S. Fujimoto Memorial Scholarship awards Hawaii Island, Kauai, and Oahu high school students.
The Building Future Builders Scholarships are presented to second year students in the Hawaii Community College carpentry program.
