Susan Graybeal

Susan Lynn Graybeal, 61, on June 5, 2020 in Hilo. She was born in Elyria, Ohio.

Private service will be held by family.

She is survived by brother, Richard Mechtly; and sisters, Mary Beth Blankenship, Joan Ryan and Kristine Love.

Shane Symons

Shane Paul Symons, 60, of Kailua-Kona, died June 7, 2020 at Kona Community Hospital. Born Jan. 25, 1960, in Santa Rosa, California, he was a craftsman and carpenter.

Services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by wife, Toni; daughter, Caitlin (Steven) Mahelona of Kailua-Kona; son, Joel Symons of Seattle; brothers Steven (Linda) Symons of Shasta Lake, California, Scott Symons of Santa Rosa, California, and Jack (Sharon) Symons of Santa Rosa, California; and six grandchildren.

Leonora Baligad

Leonora R. Baligad, 86, of Pepeekeo, died May 25, 2020 at Hawaii Care Choice Born Aug. 30, 1933, in Waipahu, Oahu, she was a retired clerk at Uncle Billy’s Gift Shop and former employee of Mings and J.C. Penney’s in Hilo, a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou, Pepeekeo Senior Club, Aunty Sally’s Seniors and Serenaders, Red Hat Society, Halau O Mailelaulani and Ukulele Mo’Fun Band and volunteer at the Hawaii Police Department, Hilo Downtown Association and was a Grandmother of the Year.

Private services will be held.

She is survived by daughters, Gloria (Richard) Barnett of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Diana Pulgados and Alfreda (Alan Ah Nee) Baligad Rapoza of Hilo, Alicia Stevens of Ewa Beach and Angela (Sam) Baligad Kahikina of Pepeekeo; sisters, Philomena (Jo/Mary) Resurreccion Rabago of Hakalau and Florence (Paul) Garcia Brewer of Oak Harbor, Washington; brother, Antonio (Rose) Baldogo of Wahiawa, 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Olivia Robledo

Olivia Marie Robledo, 91, of Hilo died May 31, 2020, at her residence. Born in Hakalau, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by sons, Neal (Carol) Nishimoto of Kona, and Conrad Robledo of Kona; daughters, Barbara (Fred) Brown of Hilo, Andrea (Michael) Cravalho of Keaau, Roxanne (Morris) Takemoto of Hilo, Lorna (Gregg) McEntee of Brentwood, California, Pamela (Jesse Shimabukuro) Cabatu of Hilo, and Nadine (Orrin) Icari of Hilo; sister, Velma Pacheco of Pepeekeo; brother, Leonard (Jody) Gonsalves of Ainaloa; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Tsuneo Akiyama

Tsuneo Akiyama, 86, of Hilo, died June 5, 2020 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Nov. 22, 1933, in Puunene, Maui, he was the retired proprietor of the former Men’s Shop, a member of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hawaii (Past-President), East Hawaii Hiroshima Kenjinkai, 2/10 Golf Club and numerous other organizations, and a United States Army veteran.

Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary offerings).

He is survived by wife, Charlotte Akiyama of Hilo; sons, Keith (Raenelle) Akiyama of Hilo and Kevin (Elma) Akiyama of Hilo; sisters, Patsy (Yasusaburo) Takushi of Kahului, Maui, Claire (Harold) Tonai of Pearl City, Oahu, and Shigeko Akiyama of Kahului, Maui; five grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Judith Hooper

Judith Raquel Hooper, 90, died May 20, 2020 at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. She was born in San Clemente, Jalisco, Mexico.

She is survived by daughters, Carmen Holt of San Diego, Calif., Rosanna Gali of Mountain View, Marie (Pierre) Alvarenga and Linda McIntyre of Las Vegas, and Rebecca Hooper De Dios (Paul Thomas) of Pueblo, Colo.; sons, Jesse Hooper of Chicago, And James (Lisa) Hooper of Murray, Utah; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandson.

Irene Riambon

Irene Rabanzo Riambon, 82, of Hilo, died May 29, 2020 at home. Born Oct. 20, 1937, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a horticulturist and member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. June 25 at the Gardner’s residence for a service. Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo at 9:30 a.m. June 26. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section)

She is survived by husband, Ceferino Riambon of Hilo; daughters, Vangie (Gary) Gardner, Rosejean (Robert) Villahermoza, Maribel (Noel) Castro and Thelma (Efren) Nicolas of Hilo, Ederline (Delfin) Paet of Philippines; brother, Simeon (Nenita) Rabanzo of Philippines; sister, Norma Rabanzo of Kona; 15 grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.

Vicente Felipe

Vicente Lumabao Felipe, 67, of Pepeekeo, died June 10, 2020 at Hawaii Care Choices. Born April 5, 1953, in Tangib, Laoag, Philippines; he was a retired laborer for Isemoto Contracting Co. and a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.

He is survived by wife, Amading Calaustro Vinoya Estantino of Pepeekeo; daughters, Elsa (Myles) DeCoito of Hilo and Jamie (Adam) Veloria of Ainaloa; son, Erik (Vida) Felipe of Honolulu; siblings, Nestor (Tessie) Felipe and George (Jebilyne) Felipe of Honolulu, Candy Ragsac of Las Vegas, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
