Samuel Bell, 81 of Waimea, died on May 19, 2020, at his residence Born in Waimea, he was a Navy veteran, former police officer, and retired mason.

He is survived by sons, Johnny Bell and Tracy Kalani Bell of Honolulu, Donovan Bell of Orlando, Florida, Steven Dunlap of Brant, MI; daughters, Desiree Gambill and Misty Bell of Waimea, Raynee (Gary) Fisher of Ahualoa, Allison (Carl) Enomoto of Hilo and Christi-Jean (Patrick) Donnelly of Kea’au; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, David Bell of Kailua, and Autry (Holly) Bell of Waimea; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Helen Delatorre
Helen M. Delatorre, 90, of Kailua-Kona, died May 23, 2020 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born May 13, 1930, in Lahaina, Maui, she was a coffee farmer and a room maid at the former Kona Inn Hotel and Islander Inn.
Services will be held at a later date. She is survived by her sons, Alan (Marina) Delatorre and Glenn (Audrey) Delatorre of Kailua-Kona, Terry (Jerri) Delatorre of Honokaa; daughters, Valerie (Nathan) Abo and Sandy (David) Rapozo of Hilo, Bernie Talley of Kailua-Kona, Laverne Acosta of Honolulu; brother, Harold Nakaoka of California; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; numerous niece and nephews.

Daniel Umeno
Daniel Hideo Umeno, 37, of Kailua-Kona, died May 3, 2020 at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 16, 1982, in Kealakekua, he was a chef and worked at major hotels and restaurants in Hawaii, Chicago and Arizona.

He is survived by parents, Michael and Judy Umeno of Kailua-Kona; brother, David (Koua) Umeno of Okinawa, Japan; two nieces; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Larry Barnes
Larry Glenn Barnes, 70, of Hilo, died May 27, 2020 at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born May 6, 1950, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, he was a general contractor and a member of Puna Covenant Church.

He is survived by wife, Xiumin Li of Hilo; sons, Patrick Barnes of California and Donovan Barnes of Colorado; a daughter, Freida Zhao of Oahu; sisters, Linda (Jack) Zembower of Pennsylvania, Sally (Randy) Anderson of New York, Shirley (Michael) Henderson of Volcano, and Jayne Reddinger of Michigan; brother, Ed Barnes of Ohio; many nieces and nephews.
