Hawaii County reported no new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, leaving the island’s total case count at 81.

Just one new case was reported in the state in the City and County of Honolulu, bringing Oahu’s case tally to 423, according to a noon update from the state Department of Health.

The COVID-19 Joint Information Center said the new case was a nonresident who traveled to Oahu and became ill while in self-quarantine.

Kauai and Maui reported no new cases with their totals standing at 20 and 119, respectively. The center noted one case was removed after re-testing with negative results.

To date, Hawaii has recorded 653 positive cases of COVID-19 since Feb. 28. The statewide case total includes 10 residents diagnosed outside the state.

Of the cases identified to date, 612 have since recovered and been released from isolation. That includes all 81 cases on the Big Island, which hasn’t reported a new case since May 27.

Statewide, 83 people have required hospitalization, including one person in Hawaii County.

The statewide death toll from coronavirus-related illness remains at 17, with 11 on Oahu and six on Maui.
