Mayor didn’t want his job
I did not vote for Mayor Harry Kim. I knew he was not capable of leading our island. His lack of leadership was proven and very clear in the way he handled the TMT disaster. He even admitted on TV, and I quote “I did not ask for this job.” Well, Mayor Kim, guess what? We don’t want you to handle your job either. So, step down. You can’t handle it.
This is, more than likely, the biggest problem our country and our island has ever witnessed.
Your complete disregard for human life in our community is outragous and disgusting. So, please, sign the letter to our president and stop tourism here on the Big Island. Please step down as mayor (as you said, loud and clear, you didn’t want this job).

Can we imagine?
Rationing in World War II, according to Wikipedia, began after the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941.
Items included bicycles, butter, canned, bottled and frozen foods, canned milk, cheese, coal, coffee, dried fruits, firewood, food oils, fruit butter, fuel oil, gasoline, jams, jellies, lard, margarine, meat, nylon, rubber footwear, penicillin, shoes, shortening, silk, stoves, sugar, tires, and typewriters.
Can we imagine our lives with less of these goods in the 2020s? Perhaps we could get along without the last item, typewriters. Can we understand the sacrifices that Americans and those in other countries made during World War II?
