The Hawaii Island Paddlesports Association event for one-man, two-man and rudderless outrigger canoes, Keauhou’s Kuuipo Race was held Saturday in memory of the late, longtime Keauhou paddler, Eda Hinchcliffe.
The 10-mile long course started outside Honokohau Harbor and the participants outraced a storm moving in from the north to cross the finish line inside Keauhou Bay. The short course paddlers raced to the south on a six-mile course that started and also finished at the Keauhou finish line.
