The Judicial Selection Commission on Friday announced four nominees to replace former-Hilo Circuit Court Judge Greg K. Nakamura’s seat, which has been vacant since November 2019.
Selected were current-District Court Judge Jeffrey A. Hawk, Hilo attorney William B. Heflin, Hilo attorney Peter K. Kubota and public defender Jeffrey W. S. Ng.
Under Hawaii’s Constitution, Gov. David Ige has 30 days to make his appointment, which must be confirmed by the state Senate.
