AARP accepting applications for Community Challenge Grant Program
AARP has opened applications for the 2020 AARP Community Challenge grant program to fund “quick-action” projects that spark change across the country, in the categories of civig engagement, public spaces, transportation and mobility, housing access, smart cities and other innovative projects.
In 2019, AARP’s Community Challenge Grants supported a Kona bikeshare community health program with West Hawaii Community Health Center and People’s Advocacy for Trails Hawaii.
The challenge is open to 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4) and 501(c)(6) nonprofits and government entities. Other types of organizations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Ohana Fuels program benefits Habitat Hawaii Island
Habitat for Humanity Hawaii Island is the fourth-quarter 2019 beneficiary of the Ohana Fuels ‘Fuel Up. Do Good.’ Program. Ohana Fuels partners with non-profit organizations serving the needs of the local community and donates a portion of the proceeds from every gallon of gasoline purchased at Ohana Fuels stations in that community.
Through this partnership, Habitat for Humanity Hawaii Island received a donation in the amount of $5,656.83.
