Itsuo Sakai
Itsuo Sakai, 93, of Hilo died Dec. 10, 2019, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Hilo, he was a retired freight clerk for Young Brothers, an avid bowler and a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.
Private services held.
He is survived by wife, Karen Sakai of Hilo; sons, Lawrence (David) Sakai of California, Karl (Novelie) Sakai of Pearl City, Dayne Sakai of Hilo; daughter, Melanie (David) Shiraishi of Aiea; one brother-in-law; five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Leona Basque
Leona Lynne Balucan Basque, 57, of Kealakekua, died Dec. 19, 2019, at her family’s residence. Born March 16, 1962, in Kealakekua, she was a dental assistant for Hawaii Family Dental, owner of Pure Kona Green Markets and a travel agent with Gone Again Travel.
A celebration of life will be held at 9 a.m. Jan. 25 at the West Hawaii Community Health Center pavilion at 74-5214 Keanalehu Dr. in Kailua-Kona. The family requests casual attire.
She is survived by her husband, David Basque II of Kealakekua; son, Brian John (Kanoe) Balucan-Carvalho of Hilo; parents, John (Judy) Balucan of Kalaoa, Kona; brothers, Chucky (Angeline) Balucan of Hilo, Shane (Anne) Balucan of Kailua-Kona, and Shannon (Pua) Balucan of Hilo; sisters, Jonelle (Desmond) Balucan of Kalaoa, Kona, and Shawn (Jamie) Kahoalii of Hilo; five grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gregory Wolfe
Gregory Scott Wolfe, of Kailua-Kona, died on Dec. 26, 2019, in Kailua-Kona. Born Dec. 1, 1948, in Hamilton, Ohio, he grew up in Honolulu, served in the Navy and retired from Pearl Harbor Public Works Department and numerous jobs in Kona.
