Christmas Parade Extravaganza Monday at Aloha Theatre
Ever been inspired by the Macy’s Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, Disneyland/world parades, or any live-interactive performances?
Are you a performer who wants to take their musical theatre skills to the next level?
Here’s your turn to gain professional training in the entertainment world by joining Rachel Carr in Christmas Parade Extravaganza on Monday.
Filled with Disney inspiration, students will learn the how-tos of performing in multiple shows a day, and the “behind the scenes” elements involved with large-scale parades and outdoor performance events. This one day only workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at Aloha Theatre welcomes pre-teens and teens (ages 10-18) of all theatrical backgrounds to attend.
Tickets cost $35 before Saturday, $50 after.

Dances of Universal Peace Jan. 12
The Dances of Universal Peace is a 40-year-old tradition of dancing to chants from a variety of the world’s religions in a simple moving meditation. Newcomers are welcomed. Dress casual, no previous experience or dance partner needed.
It will be held 5-6:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at the New Thought Center in Kealakekua.

‘Ohrlando’s’ opens New Year with concerts
Not only in Vienna but all over the World the New Year gets welcomed with entertaining classical music.
Big Island’s New Year starts with music with “Ohrlando” and his wife Ursula. The two musicians will offer a special musical gift to the community: A colorful bouquet of Salon Musique. An entertaining classical program with waltzes, polkas, dances, and more. You may dance or simply move your legs to the salon melodies of the 19th and 20th century.
Two concerts will be held 3 p.m. Jan. 5 at a private residence in Kailua-Kona with after concert party 3 p.m. Jan. 12. Free admission, but $20 per person donation welcomed.
