Robert Naihe, Sr.
Robert Naihe, Sr., 89, of Hilo, died Nov. 23, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on April 30, 1930, he was a retired roofer and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Keaukaha Ward).
Friends may call from 9-10:30 a.m. Dec. 12 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hilo Hawaii Stake Center. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Casual/aloha attire and flowers are welcomed. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section.
He is survived by wife, Daisy Naihe of Hilo; son, Robert (Tina Marie) Naihe, Jr. of Kohala; daughters, Daisy Mae (Rudy) Kamohai, Lurae (Charles) Hanohano, Candace (Daniel) Aina and Tracey (Raynard) Kapuni all from Hilo, Elizabeth (Lance) Benevides of Volcano and Lee Ann (Leonard) Napierskie of Neosho, Missouri; brother, Herbert Naihe of Waipahu; sister, Margo Gonsalves of California; 25 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and eight-great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Paulynn Pawai
Paulynn Joanne Pawai, 51, of Hilo, died Nov. 12, 2019, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born on Nov. 28, 1967, in Honolulu, she was a homemaker.
Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. Dec. 14 at King’s Chapel Honokaa, 45-3370 Old Mamalahoa Highway. Funeral service is at 10 a.m., burial to follow at Waimea Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire.
She is survived by sons, Alfred (Jolina) Carba-Pawai, III of Honolulu and Allen (Kelly Acdal) Pawai-Carba of Honokaa; sister, Danniel Paulino of Waimea; four grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lloyd Edwards
Lloyd Wellington Edwards, 24, of Honokaa, died Nov. 25, 2019. Born in Hilo, he was a bartender at Oceans Sports Bar and Grill.
Visitation will be 8-10 a.m. Dec. 14 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 45-5028 Plumeria Street, Honokaa. Mass is at 10:30 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Casual attire, flowers and lei welcomed.
He was an only child and is survived by his parents, Terry Gene Edwards and Evangeline Cristobal-Bautista of Honokaa; paternal grandfather James (Kelly) Edwards of Shelton, Wash. paternal grandmother, Marilyn Edwards of Kapaau; five aunts; one uncle; two great-aunts and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Emiliano Bautista of the Philippines, maternal grandmother, Perpetua Crisobal of the Philippines, one aunt, one uncle.
Alvin Yoshida
Dr. Alvin Tadashi Yoshida, 61, of Hilo died Oct. 7, 2019, in Seattle. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired orthodontist and proprietor of Alvin T. Yoshida, DDS, Inc.
Friends may call from 1:30-3 p.m. Dec. 15 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 3 p.m. memorial service. Casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Colleen Yoshida of Hilo; daughter, Erin Yoshida of Hilo; son, Nathan Yoshida of Hilo; mother, Doris Yoshida of Honolulu; brothers, Dr. Alan (Lisa Fong) Yoshida of Honolulu, Dr. Colin (Harriet) Yoshida of Fremont, Calif.; sisters, Jean Okumura of Kaneohe, Judy (Morris) Kunita of Honolulu, Lillian (Melvin) Yoshikawa of Honolulu; mother-in-law; sister-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts.

Theodore Toluba
Theodore Toluba, 79, of Honokaa, died Nov. 4, 2019, at his residence. Born in Larksville, Penn., he was a retired counselor at A.M.Y. Northwest Middle School in Philadelphia, a veteran with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and an avid tennis player and outdoorsman.
