KCS seasonal concerts perform this month
The Kona Choral Society is hosting a number of holiday concerts this month to celebrate the season.
Under the guidance of Susan McCreary Duprey, artistic director, KCS’s presentations begin at 7 p.m. tonight with “Joy to the World” at St. Michael The Archangel Church, 75-5769 Alii Drive. The concert is free.
Also free is the Youth Chorus production, “Simple Gifts,” at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 6. Directed by Wendy Buzby featuring three choruses with children from grades K-12, will take place at Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, 77-165 Lako St.
At 4 p.m. Dec. 8, Handel’s “Messiah” and “For a Breath of Ecstasy,” by Michael Trotta, will perform at Ohana Court at the University of the Nations, 75-5851 Kuakini Highway. Adults cost $25, students $10 and reserved seats are $50

Small Business Saturday and Holiday Party this weekend
The Blue Sea Artisans Gallery is hosting their “Holiday Party” in honor of Small Business Saturday from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at its gallery.
The public is invited to mingle with the artists, enjoy the pupus and refreshments with live music for the event. Enter to win an argentinium sterling silver necklace and two swarovski crystal bracelets created by Leslie Munger. The drawing will be held at the reception. There will be special deals on member artists’ work at the reception and through the month of December at the gallery.

23rd annual Holiday Charity and Artists event Saturday
The Kailua Village Artists invite the public to their 23rd annual Holiday Charity and Artists Reception 5-7 p.m. Saturday at their gallery.
This year’s celebration will include door prizes and a silent auction with art donated by member artists, in addition to the original ornaments created by all the member artists for the annual effort of the co-op to give back to the community. It is a free event with pupus, cookies and refreshments and live music by Erika Fritts.
All of the funds from the silent auction and the ornaments from the Holiday Charity Tree through Dec. 24 benefit the Kiwanis Club of Kailua-Kona.
KVA’s artists have raised over $1,000 each year in ornament sales for charity.

Waimea Christmas fair Dec. 7
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will complement the town’s daylong festivities’ prelude to the evening’s famed Waimea Twilight Parade.
Among the vendors and artisans offering unique items and holiday gift ideas at the indoor show will be Island folk artist Bobbi Caputo, Photography by Pamela, Veralyn Villanueva Originals and Smart Shark Designs.
Jewelry &Crochet pieces by Katera Creations, Hana Lima Designs, KalaKoa Beads and Designs, SewCute XO and Arii Hawaii. Health and beauty items by Doterra Essential Oils and Ruby Jewel Nails and keiki crafts by Ka ‘Elima Kreations 2 and Daxon’s Slime Factor.
An assortment local-style snacks and food items by Samanatha Ono Macarons, mochi and bread Goodies by Gaby and Jean, Ilala’s BBQ and Filipino Food and Tavares Tasty Treats.
A new addition to this years fair will be informational booths on Domestic Violence and Magical Creatures of Hamakua Animal Sanctuary.
