Norbert Serrao, Sr.
Norbert Anthony Serrao, Sr., 82, of Pahoa, died Oct. 12, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 26, 1937, in Hilo, he was a retired pipe fitter for the County Department of Water Supply and a member of Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 24 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo. Wake service is at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Oct. 25 at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Funeral is Mass at 10 a.m., burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Aloha attire and no flowers.
He is survived by wife, Erma Serrao of Pahoa; sons, Norbert (Kathy) Serrao, Jr. of Hilo and Duane (Rowena) Serrao of Keaau; daughter, Janean (Asheley) Stone of Pahoa; sister-in-law; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

George Warren
George Fritz Warren, 86, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 8, 2019, at his residence. Born Jan. 16, 1933, in Jacksonville, Fla. he attended the Naval Academy graduating with the class of 1957 and served as a United States Marine until 1975. He served on the USS Missouri as well as completed a tour of Vietnam during his career in the military. He worked as a certified public accountant and as the CFO for the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society. He retired at the age of 75 and moved to Kailua-Kona.
A celebration of life will be held Oct. 25 at St. Michaels Church in Kailua-Kona. Visitation begins at 1:30 p.m., followed by 3 p.m. Mass and light reception. Condolences can be forwarded to PO BOX 3152 Kailua Kona, HI 96745.
He is preceeded in death by first wife, Barbara Warren of Kailua-Kona.
He is survived by his second wife, Jacquelyn Warren; children, Catherine (James) Hawkins of Kailua-Kona, George (Patricia) Warren of Indiana, Joseph (Rika) Warren of Indonesia; Jacquie-Sue (Jed) Morris of Spain and Max Morris of Alabama; brother, Denis Warren of Florida and sister, Anne (Monty) Montgomery of Louisiana; one brother-in-law; numerous grandchildren; step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Yaeko Ebesugawa
Yaeko “Aunty Yae” Ebesugawa, 92, of Hilo, died Sept. 23, 2019, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born Jan. 31, 1927, in Hilo, she was a retired bookkeeper for the former Ebesu’s Florist and member of Higashi Hongwanji Mission and Higashi Hongwanji Fujinkai.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
She is survived by sons, Dr. Ian (Laura) Ebesugawa and Michael (Geri) Ebesugawa of Hilo; brothers, Fujio (Rose) Fujino of Colorado, Mikio (Jean) Fujino of Honolulu; sisters, Setsumi Kimura and Gail Morikawa of Hilo; sisters-in-law, five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

May Takushi
May Fujiko Takushi, 79, of Hilo, died Oct. 7, 2019 at home. Born May 1, 1940, in Hilo, she was the retired owner and beautician for the former Style Beauty Salon and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.
Private services were held. The family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
She is survived by son, Craig (Gina) Takushi of Kahului, Maui; daughters, Shann (Aaron) Ohara of Hilo, Leigh-Ann (Steven) Casuga of Waianae, Oahu; sister, Joyce (Joseph) Okuna of California; eight grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Alfred Kumalae
Alfred Georgie Kumalae, Jr., 64, of Kurtistown, died Oct. 5, 2019, at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu and was a Hobie Cat sailing instructor and a retired nursery field maintenance worker.

Henry Aguiar
Henry Perreira Aguiar, 104, of Hilo, died Sept. 11, 2019, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. He was born in Hilo was a retired service station owner/mechanic and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Visitation 8-10 a.m. Oct. 23 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers and koden (monetary donations).
Survived by caregiver/great-grandson, Siliaga Lemafa of Hilo; hanai daughter/granddaughter, Barbara (John) Vallejo of Las Vegas, Nev.; six grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter; numerous nieces &nephews.

Barbara Wilburn
Barbara Ellen Wilburn, 90, of Kurtistown and formerly of Kailua, Oahu, died Oct. 1, 2019, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a fine artist, homemaker, former cheerleader at the University of Hawaii-Manoa, member of the Windward Potter’s Guild, Lanikai Mortgage Players and Mokulua Fishing Club.

Survived by daughters, Laura Walker of Volcano, Cynthia (May) Wilburn of Honokaa; son, Christopher (Sally) Wilburn of Volcano; three grandchildren, one great-grandson, numerous nieces &nephews.
