James Namahoe
James Kamaka Namahoe, 82, of Hilo died Aug. 29, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Friends may call 5-6 p.m. Sept. 15 at Dodo Mortuary; funeral service at 6 p.m. Friends may call again 10:30-11:30 a.m. Sept. 16 at Dodo Mortuary for a visitation only. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
He is survived by daughters, Uilani (Karen) Jerrils-Gomez of Keaau, Christine (Noel) Namahoe-Loo of Hilo, Une Namahoe of Hilo, Jaymie (Felipe) Caoili of San Jose, California; brother, Paka Namahoe of Hilo; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Grace Iurilli
Grace Iurilli, 61, of Mountain View, died Aug. 28, 2019 at Pohai Malama in Hilo. Born in Long Island, New York, she was a nurse at Hilo Hospital, Kamehameha Schools, HCCC jail and nursing homes and an artist and healer.
She is survived by husband, Dan Siemens; two stepsons, Ethan and Benjamin; brothers, Michael, his wife Janet, Robert and wife Lory; and hanai children Celia, Rusty, Alicia and Scott; one niece, one nephew.

Richard Santos
Richard Heinz Santos, 68, of Hilo, died Sept. 3, 2019, at Pohai Malama Hospice Care in Hilo. Born May 28, 1951 in Hilo, he was a former member of the arc of Hilo.

He is survived by his parent, Lieselotte Santos of Hilo; brother, Rainer Santos of Hilo; two nephews; one niece.

Jovencio Gamiao
Jovencio Fronda Gamiao, 84, of Honokaa, died Aug. 17, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Nov. 28, 1934, in the Philippines; he was a baker and member of the Jehovah Witnesses Honokaa Iloko Congregation.
A service will be held at a later date.
He is survived by wife, Morayta Gamiao of Honokaa; daughters, Lorna Gamiao of Philippines and Lesile (Jose) Miguel Jr. of Honokaa; sons, Jonan (Florence) Gamiao, Joven (Maria Antonia) Gamiao of Philippines and Joveleo (Analyn) Gamiao of Philippines; hanai children, Keren Gamiao and Keziah (Steven) Cutrell of Honolulu.

Roy Yamashita
Roy Takumi Yamashita, 80, of Hilo, died Aug. 20, 2019, at the Castle Hospital on Oahu. Born in Pepeekeo on April 5, 1939, he was retired from the former Hawaii Motors in Hilo as an automobile technician.
Private services held. No flowers. No koden.
He is survived by companion, Sandra Kiyota of Hilo; daughters, Janna (Connie Watanabe) Yamashita of Kapolei, Debra (Troy) Funai of Hilo and Tianne Yamashita of Hilo; brother, Kenneth (Maureen) Yamashita of Kailua; sisters, Lynne Mayeda of Kaneohe and Cherrie (Arthur) Amasaki of Torrance, California; five grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
