Chita Colobong
Chita Calantoc Colobong, 53, of Pahoa, died Aug. 4, 2019, at Hawaii Care Choices. Born April 27, 1966, in Binaratan Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a Proprietress Papaya farmer and she worked for Hilo Seaside Hotel. She also was a member of the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Friends may call on Sept. 8 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, visitation from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; wake service at 7 p.m. An all night-vigil to follow at the family residence in Pahoa. A funeral Mass will be held Sept. 9 at the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 8 a.m. Burial at Alae Cemetery (New Section). Casual attire and flowers and lei are welcomed.
Survived by husband, Antonio Colobong of Pahoa; daughters, Christine Colobong and Tiane Colobong of Pahoa; father, Sotero Calantoc of Pahoa; brothers, Hilarion (Cleta Fe) Calantoc and Mariao (Elizabeth) Calantoc of Philippines, Alfonso (Dorothy Joy) Calantoc of California, Antonio Calantoc of Pahoa; two sisters in-law; three brothers in-law; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Rachel Mahuna
Rachel Piilani Mahuna, 87, of Hilo, died Aug. 11, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 7, 1932, in Hilo, she was a retired manager for the former Dairy Queen in Hilo, had managed the former Swiss Candy House in Hilo, worked for the former Islander Night Club in Hilo and was a member of Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church in Keaukaha.
Friends may call at 6 p.m. Sept. 5, at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may again call at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 6 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park Lehua Section. Family requests casual attire.

Ronald Rikio Daimaru, 59, of Hilo, died July 27, 2019, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a sales representative.

Jean Saito
Jean Michiko Saito, 82, of Ahualoa, died Aug. 14, 2019, at home. Born Aug. 30, 1936, in Honolulu, she was a retired Honokaa Elementary School teacher, also taught at Kamiloiki Elementary School in Hawaii Kai and member of Kamuela Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and Buddhist Women’s Association.
Friends may call at 11 a.m. Sept. 8, at Kamuela Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Church Row for a noon service. The family requests casual attire.

Christopher Wayne Subica Sr. aka “Rainbow Man,” 69, of Mountain View, died Aug. 21, 2019 at his home. Born in Hawaii on March 24, 1950, he was an Army veteran, and a freelance construction worker.
