Victoria Kai
Victoria Yuk Lun Kai, 74, of Waiohinu, died June 25, 2019, at Ka’u Hospital. Born on Jan. 7, 1945, in Pahala, she worked and retired from the Hawaii Department of Education as a cook for the Naalehu School and she also was a member of the United Public Workers.
Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. July 20 at the Kauahaao Congregational Church in Waiohinu, Ka’u. Memorial service begins at 10 a.m. Casual attire.
She is survived by spouse, Randolph T. Kai, Sr. of Waiohinu; sons, Randolph T. Kai, Jr. and Darren K. (Nahoku) Kai of Waiohinu; daughter, Cheryl (Corey) Maesaka of Volcano; sister, Charlene (Marshall) Harvest of Haleiwa; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, one; brother-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Troy Kataoka
Troy Yoshito Kataoka, 58, of Hilo, died June 14, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in April 1961 in Hilo, he was the owner of Hawaii Hookup and former owner of Kosei Exquisite Jewelry.

He is survived by sons, Talen Kataoka and Chancen Kataoka; daughter, Kyrie Kataoka, all of Texas; brothers, Kurtis (Sharon) Kataoka of Hilo and Karl (Elizabeth) Kataoka of Hilo; sister, Kathy (Bert Macanas) Kataoka of Keaau; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shizuko Yamamoto
Shizuko Yamamoto, 93, of Hilo died May 23, 2019, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was a school secretary at Mountain View Elementary, Chiefess Kapiolani Elementary and Waiakeawaena Elementary schools and a member of the Central Komohana Kumiai.

She is survived by son, Darrell Yamamoto of Hilo; daughter, Cynthia (Kazuyoshi) Takayama of Chiba, Japan; numerous nieces and nephews.
