Masayoki George
Masayoki Stanton George, 35, of Kailua-Kona, died May 30, 2019, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Feb. 28, 1984, in Kosrae, Micronesia, he was a dishwasher at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. June 25 at Kona Kosrae Micronesian Church in Kalaoa, Kona.
He is survived by mother, Naimi George of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Zackius (Mertalina) George of Kailua-Kona, Joseph George, Dale George and Lane George of Kosrae, Micronesia; sisters, Mikaela George of Kailua-Kona, Sueanna George of the mainland; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Herman Kuanoni Sr.
Herman Kuanoni Sr., 75, of Honokua, South Kona, died May 30, 2019, at Hale Makua, Wailuku, Maui. Born Oct. 7, 1943, he worked at Hawaiian Host Macadamia Nut Factory, Captain Cook Coffee, Kona Famer’s Cooperative, Kona Islander Inn and Kona Hilton.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
He is survived by Victoria (Spencer) Akiu, sons, Herman Kuanoni Jr. of Kailua-Kona, Dawson (Pua) Akiu of Kalaoa, Bronson (Deidre) Kuanoni of Kohala, Bryson (Jeannette) Kuanoni of Kailua-Kona, Jason (Steveandra) Kuanoni, Samson (Shel’le) Kuanoni, both of Wailuku, Maui; daughters, Cheryl (Keneke) Kuanoni, Sierra (Shannon) Kuanoni, and Lietta Kuanoni all of Wailuku, Maui; brothers, Raymond Kuanoni Sr. of Ka’u and Thomas (Keala) Kaupu of Hookena, 26 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Brenda Benoit
Brenda Lee Benoit, 70, of Pepeekeo, died June 12, 2019, at her residence. Born in Los Angles, she was a retired logger and volunteer firefighter in Klamath, Calif.
Services will take place in California at a later date.
She is survived by aunt, Jane Benoit of Hilo and numerous loved ones.

Wendell Mattos Sr.
Wendell Akio Mattos Sr., 68, died May 12, 2019, at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu.
Born in Kohala, he was retired from the County of Hawaii Public Works Department.
Friends may call 8 a.m. June 29 at 54-321 Union Mill Road for a 10 a.m. service. Luncheon to follow.
He is survived by wife, Jeannine, sons, Wendell Jr. (Gaylyn) of Kohala, William (Allyson) of Oahu, daughter Tioni Maeda of Kohala; brother, Wesley (Dana) of Kona, 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three uncles; two aunts; numerous cousins nieces and nephews.
