Kenneth Wong

Kenneth Mun Sing Wong, 94 of Hilo, died May 11, 2019, at the Legacy of Hilo. He was born on Oct. 14, 1924, in Hilo. He was a retired financial planner, member of the San Francisco Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite of Freemasonary, Shriner-Islam Temple, San Francisco, Shriner Aloha Temple, Oahu Country Club, Plaza Club, and Rotary Club of Honolulu.

Visitation and services will be held 10 a.m. June 8 at Ballard Family Mortuary Hilo Chapel; 570 Kinoole St. in Hilo.

He is survived by spouse Ramona Carter Wong; daughter, Sharyn Gale Eng; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Wayne Kaupiko

Wayne Wainuhea Kaupiko of Kailua-Kona died May 21, 2019, at Kona Hospital. Born April 30, 1951 in Kealakekua, Wayne worked as a CDL truck driver for Pacific Waste.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He is survived by spouse, Jacqueline; son, Isaac (Raegen) Kaupiko of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Rachel (Nicholas) Kaupiko of Honaunau; father, Raymond (Diana) Fujikawa of Naalehu; brothers, Wilbert (Maria) Kaupiko of Waimea; Riley (Shaunda) Fujikawa of Ka’u; sisters, Raenette (Timothy) Marino of Hilo; Raylene (Glenn) Moses of Ka’u; Serena Fujikawa of Mountain View; Sandy (David) Carvalho of Hilo; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

LeeAnn Leslie

LeeAnn Puanani Leslie, 42 of Holualoa, Keauhou Mauka, died March 31, 2019, at Kona Community Hospital. She was an archaeologist with SCS at Hokulia, co-founder and captain with Hawaii Island Ocean Tours.

Friends may call 8-9 a.m. June 15 at Kahikolu Church in Napoopoo for a 9:30 a.m. service. Lunch will be at 11 a.m. at Hale Kapiolani, at Kahikolu Church. Scattering of ashes will be at 5 p.m. at Keauhou Bay. Casual attire and flowers are welcomed.

She is survived by sons, Treston Gomes of Keauhou Mauka, Dustin Gomes of Keauhou Mauka, and Kawika Odel-Leslie of Keauhou Mauka; parents, Richard (Arleen Asada) Leslie and Allison Leslie of Keauhou Mauka; brother, Lanui Leslie of Oahu; sisters, Jackie Leslie of Ocean View, Pamela Kekuewa of Hilo, and Asia Lacey-Nahele of Oahu; grandparents; Monji and Dora Asada of Keauhou Mauka, Elanor and Victor Segobia of Hilo, Henry and Nancy Leslie of Oahu; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

James Kimura

James Tatsumi Kimura, 64, of Hilo, formerly of Mountain View, died May 5, 2019, at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. He was born in Hilo on Jan. 2, 1955, and was the proprietor of the Family Mortgage Co. of Hawaii, Inc. in Hilo. He was a member of the Aloha Exchange Club, Exchange Club of Hilo, Hilo Meishoin Buddhist Temple and Kuulei Community Association.

Visitation will be held 9:30-11 a.m. June 8 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo. Memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Casual attire is requested. No flowers.

He is survived by wife, Glocel Kimura of Hilo; sons, Jonathan Kimura of Hilo, Brandon Kimura of San Diego, Ryan (Kristina) Kimura of Orlando, Fla., Tait Kimura of Hilo and Chase Kimura of Hilo; sister, Darilyn Kimura of Hilo; three grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
