HOVE home lost in fire

The Hawaii Fire Department extinguished a fire that consumed a house in Hawaii Ocean View Estates Friday night.

The lone occupant of the two-story single family dwelling was able to escape uninjured. When firefighters arrived around 7:30 p.m. to the home on Bamboo Lane and Mahimahi Drive, they found two-thirds of the structure engulfed in flames.

The fire was extinguished by 9 a.m. The home suffered $101,000 loss, while $25,000 was deemed saved. The cause is under investigation.
