Look at real climate data
I was disappointed to see that WHT published a letter recently from someone claiming to know something about climate science, and asserting without citation to any sources whatsoever that climate change is “not a threat to the planet.”
People who are interested in learning more about the very real dangers of climate change might like to take a look at information and research developed by true scientists, such as that available through NASA’s website: climate.nasa.gov, which details (among other things) dramatic, unprecedented, and undeniable glacier retreat.
Another great resource is National Geographic’s “Climate 101” located at nationalgeographic.com. Damage to our environment and — ultimately — the viability of our planet is too serious a subject to dismiss foolhardily and without relying on the science readily available to us.

Island suffered a great loss
What a tragic loss to all of us when a highly qualified person who loved his job, his family and Hawaii is taken from us. It is difficult enough to find someone to do such a great job as David Mahon did. Hopefully we can find more like him.
And hopefully the young person that caused the crash does not just get a pat on the rump and told not to do this again. Hopefully, there will be no judicial “business as usual” with a plea bargain and no consequences.

Sight for new eyes
I’ve worn glasses for 70-years of my 72 years, and now, I may be shelving my glasses forever.
