Milton Subica
Milton Damien Subica, 67 of Pahoa, died April 28, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Aug. 2, 1951, in Hilo, he was a retired truck driver and security at Jas W Glover. He was a veteran with the Hawaii Army National Guard.

Patrick Cootey Sr.
Patrick Frank Cootey Sr. of Waimea, died May 8, 2019, on Oahu. Born Feb. 22, 1941, in Waimea, he served the country in the Army and was a retired police officer in Honokaa.

Robert Paddock
Robert Bradford Paddock, 96, of Kailua-Kona, died April 14, 2019, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Springfield, Mass., on Aug. 21, 1922, he was the Texaco consignee for the Big Island. He was a member of the Keauhou Yacht Club, The Club water aerobics and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Military honors will be held at 2 p.m. June 2 at the Keauhou boat harbor at Keauhou Bay followed by departure on the Fairwind for scattering of ashes. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome. For further information please call Lori at (808) 989-2001.

George Kauhaku Mundon, 63, died at Kaiser Permanente Hospital April 30, 2019, in Honolulu. He is survived by mother, Leona Mundon-Kahoonei of Hilo; father, Richard Kahoonei of Hilo; sisters, Laurilyn (Frank) Puni of Anahola, Kauai; Kennydeane Kane of Kapaa, Kauai; nieces, nephews, uncles and aunties and friends.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. May 28 at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe, Kauai. Casual attire.

Maria Kihe
Maria Malia Kihe, 83, of Kailua-Kona, died May 8, 2019, at her residence. Born in Keauhou on Sept. 10, 1935, she was a retired housekeeper at Kona Community Hospital and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kealakekua Ward.
Visitation will be held at 8 a.m. June 1 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kealakekua Ward at 81-6493 Mamalahoa Highway in Kealakekua (above Konawaena Elementary School). Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. and burial to follow at Saints Cemetery in Keei. Luncheon will follow at Kipapa Park (mauka of Magic Sands on Alii Drive). Casual attire and flowers are welcome.

Hazel Reece
Hazel Catherine Reece, of Kailua-Kona, died April 1, 2019, in Kailua-Kona. Born Feb. 25, 1956, in Washington, D.C. Hazel served our the country as a captain in the U.S. Air Force, and completed a BSN from the University of Maryland School of Nursing in Baltimore. In later years she was a nurse educator and received her Ph.D in memoriam by Presidential approval.
A memorial Mass will be held 9:30 a.m. June 7 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m., with inurnment to follow at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery at noon. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. at Kona by the Sea in the clubhouse.
She is survived by spouse, William T. Reece, Jr.; son, Matthew (Ellie) Reece of Detroit; daughters, Elizabeth (Luis) Mendez of San Antonio; Margaret (Bryan) Rathgeber of San Francisco; brother, John (Donna) Ramos III of Washington, D.C., sisters, Dr. Frances (Jan) Verbruggen of Portland, Ore.; Mary Anne (Dr. Robert Bowden) Ramos of Baltimore, Md.; and three grandsons.
