Hawaii Islander is state Toastmasters champion
Emily To took first place honors at the Statewide Toastmasters Inspirational Speech Contest on May 4 in Honolulu. It was the first time in 67 years a Hawaii Island resident has won the award.
The President of Kona Toastmasters, To competed with seven other contestants from across the state for the title, claiming the crown with a speech titled “Do Your Best.”
To’s competition video will be submitted to the Region Quarterfinals competition. If selected, she will be eligible to move on to August’s international competition in Denver, Colorado, where she will compete for the title of “World Champion of Public Speaking.”
