Emily J. Souza, 77, of Hilo, died April 21, 2019, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. She was born in Hawaii in 1942.

Mary Sturm
Mary Jane Keaweehu Sturm, 74, of Kailua Kona, died March 19, 2019, at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born July 28, 1944 in Lihue, Kauai, she was a homemaker and member of Gospel of Salvation Church in Hawi.

She is survived by daughter, Geraldine (Lorrin) Aiwohi of Kapahi, Kauai; sons, Garey (Willow) Rivera of Kailua-Kona, Richard (Leslie) Rivera of Waimea; sister, Darling (Joe) Lopez; brother, Charles Keaweehu all of Honolulu; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Desiree Shiraki
Mrs. Desiree Shiraki, 54, of Kealakekua, Hawaii, died April 18, 2019, at her residence. Born in Kealakekua on Dec. 20, 1964, she was an owner of Shiraki Dry Cleaners Inc. in Captain Cook, as well as a former employee of Kamigaki Market, Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union and Hawaii Affordable Properties. She was a member of Akitsu Kumiai and Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.
Visitation will be held at 4 p.m. May 10 at the Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in Kealakekua; memorial service at 5 p.m. the family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Shiraki of Kealakekua; son, Justin Shiraki of Captain Cook; daughter, Aimee (Luis) Meza of Kealakekua; brother, William (Phyllis) Bullanday of Oklahoma; sisters, Judith Min and Erica Deleon of Kailua-Kona; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, a niece and their children.

Peter Alpiche
Peter Alpiche, 84, of Honokaa, died April 23, 2019, at home. He was born in Halaula, and was a retired harvesting supervisor for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., a U.S. Army veteran of the 187th Airborne Rakkasans, member of the Honokaa Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Honokaa Senior Citizens, ILWU Pension Club, Honokaa County Band, The Alfred Dance Band, The Crescendos, and the D &J Sound and Dance.
Visitation 3-5 p.m. May 10 at the Honokaa Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Military honors will be rendered at 4 p.m. and a memorial mass will be held at 5 p.m. Casual attire, no flowers.
He is survived by wife, Frances L. Alpiche of Honokaa; sons, Dexter (Loke) Alpiche of Paauilo and Bradley (Lynne) Alpiche of Kona; daughter, Donna-Ann (Frank) Jenkins of Kamuela; brothers, Lawrence Villasista of Honolulu and Richard (Susan) Villasista of Honokaa; sisters, Carmen Alpiche of Hilo, Miriam Bott-Sharf of Illinois, Shirley Villafuerte of Laupahoehoe and Vernice Gomes of Honolulu; three sisters-in-law; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Charlotte “Lani” Pualani Haalilio Rodrigues, 81, of Kealakekua, died April 24, 2019, at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa, she was a retired groundskeeper and housekeeper for King Kamehameha Hotel.

Bryan Keohuhu, Sr.
Bryan Kaukalahelekaho’ohui Keohuhu, Sr., 39, of Hilo died April 23, 2019, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a landscaper, member of the Mountain View Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a loving husband, father, brother and friend.
Services will take place at the Isaac Hale Beach Park in Pohoiki in September.

Erminia Tabac Villa
Erminia “Mining” “Sally” Tabac Villa, 91, of Honokaa, died Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Wamil RACCP Family Foster Home in Honokaa. Formerly of Kauai and Honolulu, she was born in Puunene, Maui and raised in Paauhau, she was a housewife and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
A visitation will be held 9-10 a.m. on Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa at 45-5028 Plumeria Street with a memorial Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. The family requests casual attire. No flowers. Burial will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery.

Herbert De Aguiar
Mr. Herbert F. De Aguiar, 85, of Captain Cook, died April 13, 2019, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Holualoa on March 5, 1934, he was a paramedic for the County of Honolulu. He was a member of the Royal Order of Kamehameha, Merrie Monarch Glee Club, West Hawaii Hawaiian Men’s Golf Club and a U.S. Army veteran.
Visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. on May 10 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona. Mass will begin at 10 a.m. and a noon burial will follow at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Guests are invited to join the family at Hawaii Big Game Fishing Clubhouse at Honokohau Harbor in Kailua-Kona. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.
He is survived by his wife, Grace De Aguiar of Pahoehoe; sons, Allen (Sandra) De Aguiar of Captain Cook, Herbert (Joie) De Aguiar Jr. of Oahu, Michael (Kathy) De Aguiar of Washington and Randall (Magdalena) De Aguiar of Capt. Mr. Edward “Eddie Boy” Kaleohano, 69, of Kealia, died April 20, 2019, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hookena on Feb. 9, 1950, he was an auto mechanic and avid fisherman.
Visitation will be at 5 p.m. May 17 at the Honaunau Rodeo Arena in Honaunau for a 7 p.m. memorial service. Visitation will continue at the arena at 7 a.m. May 18 and a celebration of life will begin at 9 a.m. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

Irvin Keola Lopes of Kamuela, died April 29, 2019, in Kamuela. He was born March 25, 1961, in Honolulu, and worked predominantly as a landscaper.

Louise “Sweetie” Leialoha Maikui, 75, of Hilo, died on April 10, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. She was born on Dec. 29, 1943, in Hilo. She was a retired site manager for the Hawaii County Nutrition Center. She was also a member of The Way The Truth The Life Fellowship; the Hawaiian Civic Club in Laupahoehoe; the Hawaiian Bowling Club; and the U.E. Club.
Visitation will be held from 8-10 a.m. May 10 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo with funeral Service at 10 a.m.; burial to follow at Alae Cemetery, Section L. Casual attire.

Erdulfo “Rudy” “Roach” Mangibin, 69, of Pepeekeo, died April 4, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Dec. 29, 1949, in Hilo; He was a retired power plant operator for the former Hilo Coast Processing Company. He also was a member of the Pepeekeo Community Association and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.

Sharon Justice
Sharon Tally Justice, 73, of Kurtistown died April 26, 2019, in Hilo. Born in Big Spring, Texas, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, educator, actor with the local theater groups and a distinguished Hilo Toastmaster.
