Caroline Liftee
Caroline Kaawapuhi Kealoha Liftee, 86, of Honolulu, died March 11, 2019, in Honolulu. Born in Keaukaha, she attended Hilo Commercial College, was a corporal in the U.S. Army and retired as a secretary for Naval Station Pearl Harbor after 40 years of honorable federal service.
A private service was held.
She is survived by children Alexandria (Chris) Subica of Mountain View, Althea (Ahmad) Dani of Issaquah, Washington State, Alicia (Abraham) Grace of Waimanalo, Alexis Liftee and Alexander K. Liftee Jr. both of Honolulu; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Jane McCloughlin
Jane McCloughlin, 62, of Kailua-Kona, died April 4, 2019, at her residence. Born July 5, 1956, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, she was a retired director of payor solutions for Smile Brands Inc. in California and a former operations manager for Hawaii Family Dental in Kailua-Kona.
Private service to be held in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Memorial donations may be sent to Literacy Hawaii in Kailua-Kona.
She is survived by husband, Brian Benjamin of Kailua-Kona; sister, Hazel McCloughlin; brothers, Brian McCloughlin both of Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, Stephen McCloughlin of Exmouth, England; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Harry Matsuo
Harry Masayoshi Matsuo, 78, of Hilo, died March 30, 2019, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pepeekeo on Sept. 19, 1940, he was a retired carpenter who worked for various construction companies on the Big Island. He was also an avid fisherman and United States Army veteran.
Visitation will be held at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo from 8:30-9:30 a.m. April 17; funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 in Hilo at noon. Casual attire is requested.
He is survived by sons, Ronald (Sandy Cordero) Matsuo of Pahoa and Roland Matsuo of Hilo; brothers, Kenneth (Janet) Matsuo of Hilo, Leabert (Patricia) Matsuo of Hilo and Harold (Karen) Matsuo of Hilo; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; an uncle, numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Yukino Kusano
Yukino Kurata Kusano, 105, of Honokaa, died April 2, 2019, at home. Born Nov. 17, 1913, in Haina, she was a homemaker and member of Honokaa Hongwanji Mission and Buddhist Women’s Association.
Private services were held.
She is survived by daughter, Elaine (Dan) Nishibun of Evanston, Ill.; son, Ted Kusano of Honokaa; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
