James Bos
James Henry Bos, 77, of Hawi, died March 11, 2019, in Hawi. He was born April 22, 1941, in Kalamazoo, Mich., and served in the Air Force and worked as a carpenter.

Takeshi Kawamoto
Takeshi “Kawa” Kawamoto, 86, of Papaikou, died March 17, 2019, at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. He was born in Papaikou and was a retired diesel mechanic with the former Yamada Transfer, member of the Papaikou Hongwanji Mission, UsTOO East Hawaii, ILWU Hilo Pension Club, Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home Adult Daycare, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Visitation 4-5 p.m. March 25 at Dodo Mortuary. Memorial service at 5 p.m. Graveside urn committal services 9 a.m. March 27 at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No.2. Casual attire.
Survived by his wife, Shigeno “Shirley” Oba Kawamoto of Papaikou; sons, Floyd (Lauren Oie) Kawamoto of Hilo and Earl Kawamoto of Papaikou; daughter, Lois (George Makua) Giraud of Hilo; brothers, Tsutomu Kawamoto and Raymond (Diane) Kawamoto of Hilo; sisters, Mitsuko Tomono of Volcano and Masako Shimasaki of Hilo; a granddaughter and a grandson; one great-grandson; brothers in law, sisters in law, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Sarah Pacheco
Sarah “Minga” Dominga Pacheco, 89, of Hilo, died March 10, 2019, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born April 20, 1929, in Holualoa, she was a former certified nurse aide at Life Care Center of Hilo and a home health provider. She was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. March 27, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo; wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on March 28 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo with funeral Mass at 10 a.m.; burial to follow at Alae Cemetery, Section K. Casual attire.
Survived by, daughters, Priscilla Kaua of Lompoc, California and Kelly Pacheco of Honolulu; brothers, George (Rose) Torres of Mountain View and Benjamin Torres of Hilo; two sisters-in-law; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Shigeko Ikeda
Shigeko Ikeda, 90, of Hilo, died Mar. 16, 2019, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired secretary and member of the Kaumana Drive Baptist Church.

Survived by sons, Blaine (Kathie) Ikeda of Kahului, Ken (Cathy) Ikeda of Hilo; brother, Tadashi Iseri of Hilo; sister, Chieko Naguwa of Hilo; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
