Patricia LaGrange
Patricia Louise LaGrange, 65, of Pahoa, died Feb. 25, 2019. She was born in October 1954 in California.
A celebration of life was held March 9 at Uncle Robert’s Awa Bar and Farmer’s Market in Kalapana.
She is survived by son, Harrison LaGrange-Gauss of Arcata, Calif.; daughter, Claire LaGrange Gauss of Pahoa; brother, Kyle LaGrange of California; two sisters, Ethel and Crystal of California; and two grandchildren.

Hazel Maertens
Hazel Jane Maertens, 86, of Waimea, died Feb. 26, 2019, at the Salom Care Home in Hilo. Born in Haina, she was a retired State of Hawaii employee as the head housekeeper for the former Honokaa Hospital and a member of the Imiola Congregational Church and the Waimea Senior Citizen’s Center.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
She is survived by daughters, Betty (Earl) Spence of Waimea and Mary Lou (Robert) Maertens of Pahoa; son, David (Jean) Maertens of Waimea; sister, Mary (Joseph) Branco of Honokaa; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Thomas Hada
Thomas Toshio Hada Sr., 87, of Hilo, died Feb. 9, 2019, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Hospice. Born in Hilo, he was a retired journeyman mechanic for Yamada Transfer, Puna Sugar Co., Hilo Coast Processing Co. and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by wife, Caroline Hada of Hilo; sons, Thomas (Gina) Hada Jr. and Glenn (Kay) Hada, all of Mililani Mauka, Gordon (Jeanette) Hada of Omaha, Neb.; brothers, Roy (Coleen) Hada and Edward Hada, all of Hilo; sisters, Kiyoko (Hajime) Kuwada of Honolulu, and Sally Bartholetti of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Eloise Sue Ngo Chow, 89, of Hilo died Feb. 27, 2019 at her residence. Born in Pahala, she was a retired secretary and warehouse clerk for C. Brewer &Company.

She is survived by son, Alton Ten Wo Chow of Hilo; brother, William (Martha) Lee of Las Vegas.

David Charles Delzer, 68, of Kailua-Kona, died on Dec. 18, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Portland, Oregon, he was a builder and finish carpenter.
A celebration of life will be held from 3:30-7 p.m. March 29 at Kona Vista Pavilion.

Steven “Steamboat” Patrick O’Keefe, 69, of Hilo, died Feb. 28, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in San Bernardino, Calif., he ran a hauling service on the Big Island.

Michael Hong
Michael Keo Hong, 43, of Kailua-Kona, died Feb. 20, 2019, at Kona Community Hospital. Born June 11, 1975, in Honolulu, he was a freelance photographer, musician and former bartender at the Keauhou Sheraton’s Ray’s on the Bay.

He is survived by his paternal grandmother, Chizuko Hong of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Derek (Marie) Hong and Allen Hong of Kailua-Kona; a niece and nephew.

Christina Elizabeth Bell, 60, of Keaau, died Feb. 27, 2019, at home. Born April 3, 1958, in Germany, she was a former armed security guard and Red Cross volunteer.
She is survived by life partner Bill Berg; sons Jerome Brent Bell, Kevin Alexander Bell; daughters Alexandra Wetterberg, Christina Lushianda Bell Schoebert; brothers Sandy Biggs, Hans Herman; sisters Effie Knapp, Yaqueline Renz, Karin Hake-Siegmon, Andrea Krause; 15 grandchildren.

Saddie Sanae Iwamoto, 80, of Hilo, died Feb. 22, 2019, at a private care home in Hilo. Born Feb. 11, 1939, in Pahala, she was a retired bookkeeper from the office of Richard M. Okuna, certified public accountant in Hilo.

She is survived by brother, Keith Iwamoto of Hilo; one sister-in-law; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Melva Kuuipoonaleialoha Estoy, 46, of Ocean View, died Feb. 24, 2019, in Honolulu. She was born in Kealakekua.
