Robert Brigoli, Sr.
Robert W. aka “Kiyoshi Bob” Brigoli, Sr. of Keaau, died Feb. 19, 2019, at Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born on Jan. 25, 1938, in Hilo and raised in Oahu, he lived in Carson, Calif. He served 43 years and retired from the Hawaii Army National Guard and Army Reserve (AGR), a Post commander for Wilmington, California (VFW). He also was proprietor of Bobby’s Taxi &Tours and a substitute teacher and a member of the New Hope Hilo.
Friends may call from 10-10:55 a.m. March 9 at New Hope Hilo. A US Army Military Honors and funeral service is at 11 a.m. Casual attire and omit flowers. Cremation to follow at Dodo Mortuary Crematory.
He is survived by wife, Patricia Brigoli of Keaau; sons, Robert W. (Beverly) Brigoli, Jr. of Hilo, Robin D. (Nikki) Brigoli of Volcano and Randy J. (Lisa) Brigoli of Spokane, Wash.; daughters, Delilah M. Nishimura of Nishimura of McKinney, Texas and Darnly L. (William) Palama of Keaau; brothers, Anthony (Gwen) Brigoli of Kona, Albert (Laydeen) Brigoli of California, Peter (Betty) Brigoli of Hilo, John (Ursula) Brigoli and Alan Barcenas of Honolulu, James (Robin) Brigoli of Texas; sisters, Sharon Maxilom of Kaneohe, Sharleen Palakiko of Oregon, Geraldine (Jack) Digman and Norina Barcenas of Honolulu, Susanne (Steve) Bourque of Las Vegas; four brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; 21 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Juniom Acol
Juniom Amante Acol, 78, formerly of Kealakekua, died Feb. 24, 2019, at his home in Walnut Creek, Calif. Born on June 13, 1940, in Lanai City, Lanai, he was the son of the late Juan and Nieves (Amante) Acol.
His cremated remains will be scattered over the ocean at Keauhou Beach Harbor in Kona. The family is in the process of planning a memorial for him for a later time. A California memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. March 9 at the Christ the King Church 199 Brandon Road, Pleasant Hill, Calif.. Early lunch and visit with the family to follow from noon till 4 p.m. at Walnut Creek Manor Recreational Hall 81 Mayhew Way, Walnut Creek, Calif. Aloha attire. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Family at 306 Shaw Road, Walnut Creek, CA 94597.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Cagaoan Acol; children; Desiree Acol (Kim Tinei) of Walnut Creek, Calif., Dominic and Sandra (Russell) Acol of Fredricksburg, Va.; brother, James Acol, Sr., sisters, Octavia Maruoka (Ken), Olivia Sasada, Judith DeMello; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one mother-in-law; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.
Setsue Furukado
Setsue “Sets” Furukado, 84, of Hilo, died Feb. 20, 2019, at home. She was born in Hilo and was a retired floor person with the former Orchids of Hawaii and a member of the Nohea Kumiai.
Private services held.
She is survived by her daughter, April M. Arruda of Hilo; brother, Samson Y. (Eunice) Hamamoto of Hilo; one sister-in-law; one grandson, three great-grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ellen Nunes
Ellen Lucy (Gravela) Nunes, 75, of Oakland and formerly of Pahala died Feb. 6, 2019, at Highland Hospital. Born in Pahala, she was a graduate of Ka’u High School and retired from Nordstrom Rack Department Store.
Memorial service at Ballard Family Mortuary will be 10 a.m. March 16. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Lunch to follow. Casual attire. Flowers and leis welcomed.
