Donna Ah Lo
Donna Mae Leinaala Mehau Ah Lo, 81, of Aiea, Oahu, died Dec. 15, 2018, at Pali Momi Medical Center in Aiea, Oahu. Born Nov. 26, 1937, in Hilo, she was retired from Hawaiian Airlines.
Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 21 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 9:30 a.m. service. Burial follows at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by husband, Earl Ah Lo Sr.; sons, Earl (Lani Girl) Ah Lo Jr., Lyle (Keith) Ah Lo; daughters, Roxanne (Larry) Ah Lo-Batten, Marlene Kamakawiwoole; hanai daughters, Fransonna (Monte) Keb-Ah Lo, Tracey Ann Kuamoo; brother, William Ahuna; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Wallis Nagareda
Wallis “Antone” Nagareda, 90, of Hilo, died Dec. 28, 2018, at Pohai Malama Care Center in Hilo. Born in Onomea, he was a retired Hawaii County supervising building inspector, member of Papaikou Hongwanji Mission Kyodan and U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

He is survived by sons, Blane (Paula) Nagareda of Waipahu, Oahu, and Stacey (Wendy) Nagareda of Honomu; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Anthony Castberg
Anthony Didrick “Rick” Castberg, 77, of Hilo, died Jan. 5, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in San Francisco, he was professor emeritus of political science at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, a retired U.S. Coast Guard Reserve captain, former member and president of the Rotary Club of South Hilo, Volcano Art Center, and Kuikahi Mediation Center.

He is survived by wife, Joan Eguchi Castberg of Hilo; daughter, Beth (Michael) Litton of San Francisco and Washington, D.C.; sister, Susan Christ of Georgia; niece, Luana (Kalani) Mahi of Maui; three grandchildren; one great-grandson.

Takashi Aragaki
Takashi “Taka” Aragaki, 94, of Hilo, died Jan. 30, 2019, at his residence. Born March 9, 1924, in Mountain View, he was the retired proprietor of the former Sputniks Restaurant in Hilo, a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Kyodan, South Pohakulani Kumiai, Hui Okinawa, Hilo Lions Club, Hawaii State Law Enforcement Officers Association (retired Police Commissioner), former Liquor Commissioner, American Legion Post #1 (former Commander) and U.S. Army veteran (Private First Class) who served in World War II in Company I of the 442nd Infantry Regiment.
Private services held. No flowers. No Koden (monetary offerings).
He is survived by sons, Dayton Aragaki of Hilo and Gareth (Penny) Aragaki of Flat Rock, Alabama; daughter, Ginette (Roy) Kubo of Hilo; sister, Helen T. (Kiyoto) Tashima of Honolulu; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Harold Pinnow Sr.
Harold Douglas Pinnow Sr., 79, of Hilo, died on Jan. 21, 2019, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Dec. 26, 1939, in Onomea, he was a retired Hawaii County police officer, officer at Hilo International Airport for Securitas, former member of the Hawaii Army National Guard, former civil sheriff and former truck driver for S.K. Oda and Sonomura, and owner of House of Carpets, HJD Auto Body Repair, HDP Water Hauling, and HDP Car Carriers.
Visitation will be held 5 -7:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo; service at 7:30. Visitation will continue 8:30-9:30 a.m. Feb. 22 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo; memorial Mass at 10. Casual attire and no flowers.

Annette Horie
Annette “Netti” Yoshimi Horie, 53, of Waimea, died Dec. 28, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honokaa, she was a chef at the former Daniel Thiebaut Restaurant in Waimea, member of Halau Hula Kealaonamaupua and Word of God Church.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 23 at the Spencer Beach Park Pavilion in Kawaihae. Casual attire.

James Hajime Yogi, 80, of Hilo, died Jan. 13, 2019, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Facility in Hilo. Born May 7, 1938, in Mountain View, he was a retired Hawaii Department of Agriculture meat inspector, U.S. Army veteran and served in the Hawaii Army National Guard for many years.

Masayoshi Araki, 84, of Hilo, died Feb. 3, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in 1935 in Paauilo, he was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, retired Journeyman Carpenter of Local #745 Carpenters Union, and a member of Honpa Hongwanji in Hilo.

Raymond Arthur Vigneau, 92, of Hilo, died Feb. 13, 2019, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Los Angeles, he was the proprietor of Vigneau Janitorial Services and a member of the Big Island Adult Day Care.
