Jonette Jones
Jonette “Bulla” Leinohea Fujiko Jones, 38, of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 9, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 30, 1980, in Kealakekua, she was a mail clerk for Mailboxes, Etc. and front desk receptionist for Kona Bali Kai.
A celebration of life will be held at 9 a.m. Feb. 9 at Kona Palisades Recreation Center. Service at 10 a.m.
She is survived by sister, Leesha (Clint Hirayasu) Jones; brothers, Billy (Val) Jones, Shane (Lisa) Jones; hanai brothers, Wendell Fujino Jr, Clinton (Josie) Berdon all of Kailua-Kona; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lorraine Yamada
Lorraine Tsutae Yamada, 91, of Hilo, died Jan. 3, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honomu and raised on Oahu, she was retired from the Kona Surf Resort as the Japanese-speaking guest relations/wedding planner, previously managed the former House of Music, vocal coach/teacher, founding member of the Big Island Karaoke Club and member of numerous clubs, leagues and organizations in her lifetime.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
She is survived by daughters, Charlene (Alan) Okamoto, Sharon (Leonard) Morris, Joy (Alan) Steen; sons, Randall Yamada, Roy Yamada, Earl Yamada; sister, Jean (Stanley) Kaleo; 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Joshua Alfonso
Joshua Mikhail Alfonso, 30, of Kurtistown, died Jan. 5, 2019 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo and was a construction laborer with Isemoto Contracting Co. Ltd., a member of Living Waters Assembly of God Church, had a passion for cars and was the owner of Speed Workz.
Visitation 5-9 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel. Memorial service at 6 p.m. Casual attire, no flowers.
He is survived by son, Brock Alfonso-Hauanio of Puna; daughters, Brooklynn Alfonso-Hauanio of Puna and Brinlee Alfonso of Hilo; mother, Davelyn Alfonso-Gonsalves of Hilo; father, John S. Satomi Hirota Shindo, 86, of Hilo died Jan. 3, 2019, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a retired new accounts manager for Central Pacific Bank and a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.

Gloria O’Hearn
Gloria Lee O’Hearn, 85, of Keauhou, died Jan. 4, 2019, at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born Aug. 9, 1933, in Ventura, California, she was a homemaker, a former dental assistant and caregiver.

She is survived by daughter, Sheree (Richard) King of Kailua Kona; son, Michael (Michelle) O’Hearn of Martinez, California; four grandchildren.

Rogelio Gumarang Martinez, 65, of Keaau, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Hilo Medical Center. Born on July 6, 1954, in Cagayan Valley, Pamplona, Philippines; he was a former Field Supervisor at West Coast Nurseries and he also was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Gloria “Aunty Goya” Buyuan Panglao, 79, of Pahala, died Jan. 7, 2019 at home. Born July 1, 1939, in Pahala, she was a retired field foreperson for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Company and member of Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Pahala Filipino Community Association.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Jan. 26, 2019 at Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows in the church cemetery. The family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by son, Glenn (Lori) Panglao of Pahala; daughters, Glendalyne “Glenda” (Ben) Nivera of Honolulu, Gerry (Ross) Gushiken of Keaau; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul Chung-Hoon
Edmund Paul Kaleopaa Chung-Hoon, 89 of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 7, 2018, in Honokaa. Born Jan. 1, 1929, Paul worked for Slim Holts and Mackenzie tours as a tour guide and driver. He worked for Hawaii Protective Association and Freeman Guards as the district operational manager.
Celebration of life will be held at the Old Kona Airport events pavilion Feb. 2. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., service at 11 a.m. Military honors at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery at noon on Feb. 4.
He is survived by daughters, Catherine (Clayton) Villanueva of Kailua-Kona, Joanne (late-Michael) Morimoto of Pearl City, Cynthia (Hilary) Kanuha of Aiea, Danderine Clark of Ocean View; sons, Steven (Georgia) Chung-Hoon of Kealakekua, Michael (Gay) Regohos of Kailua-Kona, Edmund D. K.
