Susan Nakayama
Susan Ritsuko Nakayama, 65, of Hilo, died Jan. 4, 2019, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired tax examiner for the State of Hawaii, Department of Taxation and a member of the Kapaau Jodo Mission and HGEA.

She is survived by spouse, Cooper Nakayama of Hilo; son, Devan Nakayama of Honolulu; daughter, Cara Nakayama of Hilo; sister, Sharon (Earl) Nomura of Kurtistown; brother, Stanley Shimizu of Penn.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Henry Serion, Sr.
Henry Serion, Sr., 88, of Keaau, died Jan. 9, 2019, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Waipuka, Kohala, and was a retired heavy equipment operator, former cowboy at Huehue Ranch, fisherman, worked at the original Kona Inn as a young man, and was a member of the Pahoa Ward and former Bishop of the Kona First Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Orchidland Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Visitation also 9-10:30 a.m. Jan. 19 at the Kona Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral service at 11 a.m., followed by burial at the Kona Memorial Park. Casual attire, no flowers.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Serion of Keaau; sons, Henry (Jane) Serion, Jr. of Mountain View, Robert Serion of Hilo, Russell Serion and Kelson Serion, both of Kona; daughter, Kathleen (Kaumoana) HewLen of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Albert (Aileen) Serion of Oahu and John (Barbara) Sentino of Seattle; sister, Florence “Sheila” (Raymond) Aviles of Montana; one brother-in-law; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Joseph Enriques
Joseph Feliciano Enriques, 61, of Kurtistown, died Nov. 10, 2018, at Pohai Malama. Born in Hilo, he was raised in Pahala, Punalu’u in Ka’u and was a graduate of Ka’u High School. Joseph was a retired member of Operating Engineers Local 3 and worked for numerous local trucking companies and with Hawaii Petroleum as a fuel truck delivery and driver operator.
Friends may call at 11 a.m. Jan 19 at The House Hilo, 2282 Kanoelehua St for a noon celebration of life. Casual attire. A private cremation took place in early December and a scattering ceremony will take place at a later date.

Ernest Peshlakai, Sr.
Ernest Peshlakai, Sr., 59, of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 27, 2018, at his home. Born Nov. 29, 1959, he was a member of the Navajo and Chiricahua Apache tribes and relocated to Hilo and worked as a collision body repair mechanic. In 1995, he moved to Kona, where he worked as an electrician. In 1999, his declining health required his early retirement.

Francis Peters
Francis “Keao” Joseph Keaowehewehe Peters, 47, of Kamuela, died Jan. 5, 2019, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born on Oct. 10, 1971, in Hilo, he was a former general mechanic.
Visitation will be held from 8:30-10 a.m. Jan. 18 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo. Funeral Service is at 10 a.m. with cremation to follow. Casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Cynthia Ha’aheo Kamau of Kamuela; sons, Justin Peters of Hilo, Kekoa Peters of Kamuela, Rayden (Talia) Peters of Papaikou and Walter John Kamau-Peters of Kamuela; daughters, Myra (Jason) Peters of Keaukaha, Kaeleen Peters of Hilo and Teani Kamau-Peters of Kamuela; brother, Mitchell (Kehau) Peters of Keaau; sister, Daisy Rebolledo of San Diego; seven grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
