KAILUA-KONA — Police and the local community health center said Tuesday they haven’t experienced direct impacts to their operations as a result of the ongoing government shutdown.
Police said there are “no issues at all” facing the department as a result of the ongoing shutdown.
Hawaii Police Department Maj. Robert Wagner said the department gets its grant money in October at the beginning of the federal fiscal year, so it isn’t impacted by the lapse in appropriations.
The West Hawaii Community Health Center also said they haven’t seen any direct impacts to funding as a result of the shutdown, saying all of its federal funding is currently intact.
Are the police and Health Services not State funded? If so why would there be any impact?
Never let a crisis go to waste. The WHT liberals are desperate to find some way to blame everything on Trump, why not throw this at the wall?
Hawaii County police are funded out of the County budget. A small fraction of police programs are from Federal grants. This story is misleading. Dare I say fake news?
Oh my God the sky is falling we’re all going to die. ~sarc~ Thank WHT for that up date.
