KAILUA-KONA — Hawaii Island police have charged 36-year-old Daniel Walker with disorderly conduct and assault following a reported incident on Wednesday in the Lalamilo Farm Lots area.

Officers from the South Kohala District on Wednesday responded to Puu Huluhulu Road for a report of a male yelling and swearing at a residence and children at a horse riding lesson, a statement from the Hawaii Police Department said. When a resident contacted the individual to offer assistance, he allegedly struck him in the face.

Police said Walker was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault. He was being held at the Kealakehe Police Station in lieu of $750 bail as of Thursday afternoon pending a court appearance in Kona District Court.

Witnesses of the alleged incident should contact Officer Ken Walker at (808) 887-3080.
