Patrick Boteilho, 57, of Hilo, formerly of Waianae, died Oct. 30, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. He was born on April 25, 1961, in Honolulu. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Services to be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 1 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 85-574 Plantation Rd. Waianae. Casual attire.
Patrick is survived by brother, Thomas (Lei Jean) Boteilho, Jr; sisters, Katherine Boteilho of Waianae, Lena (Gary) Sims of Salt Lake, Pamela (Sam) Akuna of Kona, Nancy (Mike) Sylva of Makiki, Debra (Paula) Abaire of Kona, Sandy Boteilho of Waianae, Carole (Blu) Kauo of Waianae.

Alison Kaneshiro
Alison Yuriko Kaneshiro, 75, of Pahala, died Nov. 10, 2018, at Hawaii Care Choices. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired direct support worker for the Arc of Hilo, was a homemaker and member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Pahala.
A memorial Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Dec. 1 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Pahala. Casual attire. Family requests no flowers and no koden.
She is survived by husband, Harold Kaneshiro of Pahala; brother, Warren (Brenda) Morimoto of Phoenix City, Alabama; sister, Lauren Riley of San Jose, California; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Gabriel Ah Yo, Jr.
Gabriel “Joker” “Gabe” Kalani Ah Yo, Jr., 63, of Hilo, died Nov. 12, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Jan. 21, 1955, in Hilo, he was a laborer, mechanic and entertainer. He was also a member of the Hilo Jaycees.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Nov. 30 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo. Service begins at 6 p.m. A celebration of life and potluck will continue from noon to 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at Hawaiian Village in Keaukaha. Casual attire and flowers welcomed.
He is survived by wife, Louisa “Momi” Lau of Hilo; son, Gabriel (Dionne) Lau of Hilo; daughter, Stacy Ah Yo of Hilo; brothers, Wilson Ah Yo of Hilo and Gordon Ah Yo of Hilo; sisters, Teresa (Mary) Ah Yo of Hilo and Margaret Ah Yo of Florida; two grandsons; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Satoru Sugawara
Satoru “Sugar” Sugawara, 91, of Honokaa, died Nov. 13, 2018, at a care home. Born Sept. 15, 1927, in Paauilo, he was retired from the former Hamakua Sugar Company and member of Paauilo Hongwanji Mission, ILWU Pensioners Club and an ILWU Delegate.
Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 1 at Paauilo Hongwanji Mission for a 10:30 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
He is survived by brothers, Tadashi (Fusako) Sugawara and Noboru Sugawara of Los Angeles; sister, Sueko (Harry) Matsumoto of Paauilo; numerous nieces and nephews.

Emiko Akana
Emiko Akana, 88, of Keaau, died Nov. 5, 2018, at home. She was born in Kaueleau and was a retired cashier with the former Food Fair Supermarket.
Private services held.
She is survived by her son, Francis Akana of Hilo; brother, Hiroshi (Carol) Morioka of Hilo; sister, Tomoe Hara of Keaau; eight grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
