Instead of the weekly dinner beginning at 4:30 p.m., a free Thanksgiving community meal, complete with turkey and cranberry sauce, will be served at noon this Thursday at St. James Pavilion in Waimea. Attendees are asked to bring a potluck dish to share.

This holiday meal is made possible by many generous Waimea farmers, ranchers, businesses and dozens of volunteers. The project is presented in partnership with St. James’ Episcopal Church and The Big Island Giving Tree, whose volunteers deliver warm, fresh-from-scratch meals to kupuna and houseless individuals and families weekly.
