Anyone can enter a wreath for the contest by dropping it off between 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 27 or Nov. 29. An awards brunch will be held from 11:30 a.m. –1:30 p.m. Dec. 2. This year’s theme is “Honoring Our Children.”
A $20 donation is requested for each wreath entry to benefit The Big Island Giving Tree. Categories include youth — individual or group, 17 years and under; adult — individual or group; and theme honoring teachers. The “Best in Show” award will be $200. First, second and third place winners in each of the three categories will receive monetary awards of $150, $100 or $75. All winners will also receive a hand-crafted horseshoe stand. Judging will be based on workmanship, creativity and use of materials.
