Jeffrey Shigemi
Jeffrey Hideo Shigemi, 59, of Kahului, died Oct. 18, 2018, at home. Born in Hilo, he was a journeyman carpenter and a member of the Pukalani Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Paukaa Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses located at 445 Kulana St., Hilo. Visitation is from 12:30-2 p.m.
He is survived by mother, Leonora Shigemi of Hilo; sister, Jodie Shigemi of Hilo; brothers, Timothy (Terry) Shigemi of Mountain View, Kevin (Jeannette) Shigemi of Hilo, Mark (Michal) Shigemi of Honolulu; Steven (Wendy) Shigemi of Hilo; nieces and nephews.

Gavin Harrison
Gavin Wilford Harrison, 68, died on Oct. 24, 2018, in Seattle. Born March 18, 1950, in Johannesburg, South Africa, he was a beloved Buddhist teacher in Hawaii, on the mainland U.S. and in South Africa.
A life celebration memorial was held at Hapuna Beach.
He is survived by his brother and his wife, Craig J. Harrison and Lori Harrison.
Raymond Mata, Jr.
Raymond “Tom” Thomas Mata, Jr., 51, of Waikoloa, died Sept. 29, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born March 24, 1967, in Honolulu, he was a landscaper for Resort Management Group, LLC.
A Celebration of Life will be held 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at Hale Halawai.
He is survived by sons, Nolan Kanda, Tyson Mata and Nason Mata, all of Kailua Kona; Kekoa Mata of Waimea; daughters, Honorae Kanda-Mata of Kailua-Kona, Kamuela Mata of Waimea; mother, Peggy Carmack of Waikoloa; companion, Aulani Figueroa of Waimea; sisters, Lisa Alapai of Kauai, Rayanne Mata, Raynae Mata, Raylenne (Titus) Akao, Raynell Mata, Rayemarie (Francis) Kekona all of Kailua-Kona, April Mata of Hilo; two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

William Trumbo
William “Bill” Roy Trumbo, 79, of Kailua-Kona and Volcano, died Oct. 28, 2018, at a private care home in Hilo. Born in New Haven, Kentucky, he was the retired athletic director at Konawaena High School and formerly at the University of Hawaii-Hilo. He was a life-long educator, coach, athletic director, teacher and held positions at the University of Idaho, McMinnville High School, Santa Barbara City College, and Cal State University Monterey Bay, among others.
Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Nov. 17 at New Hope Hilo (840 Kupulau Road); a celebration of his life will begin at 11 a.m.. Casual attire is requested. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Memory of “Bill” to New Hope Volcano.
He is survived by wife, Lori Trumbo of Volcano; daughters, Marcie (Ron) Bennett of Eagle, Idaho, Tracey (Ken) Bradley of Rohnert Park, California, Lorianne (Colin) Onaka of Kona, Renee Kaimana (Tony) Souza of Mesa, Arizona, Jennifer (Beto) Chaparro of Mesa, Arizona; mother-in-law; 10 grandchildren, one great-grandson, numerous nieces and nephews.

Josephine Santos Salas, 88, of Hilo, died on Oct. 19, 2018, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born on Nov. 11, 1929, in Honomu, she was a housewife and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
Visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m. on Nov. 14 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo; wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue from 8-9 a.m. on Nov. 15 at the mortuary; prayer service at 9 a.m.; burial to follow at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire is requested.

Rex A. Bailado, 57, of Paauilo, he died on Oct. 17, 2018, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. He was born on July 6, 1961, in Hamakua.
A Celebration of His Life will be held on Nov. 17 at the Paauilo Hongwanji Hall; visitation from 8-10 a.m.; Celebration of Life at 10 a.m. Casual attire and flowers lei are welcomed; scattering of ashes/cremains to be held at a later date.

Fortunata “Grandma Flossie” “Atang” Salvador Cabamongan, 97, of Pahoa, died Nov. 2, 2018, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Lawai, she was a retired flower packer with Anthuriums of Hawaii.

Margaret Torigoe
Margaret Aiko Torigoe, age 78, of Hilo, died Nov. 3, 2018, in the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Facility in Hilo. Born in Hilo on Sept. 25, 1940, she was employed by the State of Hawaii Department of Education as a home economics teacher, retiring from Waiakea High School in Hilo. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Cross, Hui Okinawa, Alpha Delta Kappa and Kaumana Terrace Community Association.
Visitation will be held at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo from 3:30-5 p.m. Nov. 16; memorial service will begin at 5 p.m. Casual attire is requested. No flowers. No koden.
She is survived by husband, Edgar Torigoe of Hilo; son, Troy (Juli) Torigoe of Honolulu; daughter, Joyce (Henry) Nakamoto of Hilo; brothers, Richard (Aileen) Okuna of Hilo and Albert (Pamela) Okuna of Reno, Nevada; sister, Elaine Yamaguchi of Hilo; sisters-in-law, Lilian Torigoe of Honolulu and Florence (Mason) Tachibana of Torrance, California; four grandchildren; numerous aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Francisca Ver Pasamonte
Francisca Ver Pasamonte, 82, of Kapaau, died on Nov.5, 2018, at her residence. Born on April 2, 1936, in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a proprietor of Silver Pas Seamstress and worked at Royal Waikoloa Beach Hotel, Hapuna Prince Hotel and Mauna Kea Beach Hotel on the Kohala Coast. She also was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi.
Friends may call on Nov. 17 at the Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation is from 8-9:45 a.m.; Celebration of Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire and flowers and lei are welcomed; burial at Halawa Catholic Cemetery.

Leilani Araki
Leilani Kanehailua Araki, 64, of Kohala, died Oct. 27, 2018, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born on September 26, 1954, in Japan, she was a server with Paradise Gourmet Catering and banquet server at The Orchid at Mauna Lani. She was also a longtime member of Landmark Baptist Church in North Kohala.
Memorial service-celebration of life to be held on Nov. 17 at Landmark Baptist Church in Kohala. Visitation from 8-10 a.m. Service at 10 a.m.

Graciano Rivera
Graciano Rivera, 90, of Kahaluu Mauka, died Oct. 27, 2018, at his residence. Born in Holualoa on Dec. 18, 1927, he was a retired coffee farmer. He was a construction worker for E.M. Rivera and a U.S. Army veteran.
Visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 17 at Immaculate Conception Church in Holualoa; 10 a.m. funeral service with burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

Dennis Rueben Bangay, 74, of Kealakekua, Hawaii, died Oct. 25, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu on July 21, 1944, he was a journeyman plumber for the State of Hawaii Department of Accounting and General Services (DAGS); and a U.S. Army veteran.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Nov. 17 at Daifukuji Soto Mission in Honalo. Memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. and lunch will follow. The family requests casual attire.
