Dwight Martin
Dwight Joseph Martin, 58, of Kealakekua, died Sept. 15, 2018, at the Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honokaa on Dec. 13, 1959, he was a coffee and macadamia nut farmer. He was a member of the HHH Motorcycle Club, Kona Marlins football coach, Pop Warner, Honaunau baseball coach.
Visitation will be held 9 a.m. Nov. 17 at the Kona Faith Center next to L&L Drive-In in Captain Cook; memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. and lunch will follow at the Honaunau Rodeo Arena. The family requests casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Mildred Martin of Kealakekua; sons, Keala Martin of Honaunau, Donovan (Alana) Martin of Kaloko; daughters, Christina (Justin Onaka) Martin of Honaunau, Courtney (Troy Gomes) Martin of Holualoa; brother, Dennis (Leona) Martin of Waimea; sisters, Darilyn Revell of Hawaiian Beaches, Lisa Martin of Hawaiian Beaches; one mother-in-law: Gertrude; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Maryellan Higa
“Nani Quintal” Maryellan R. Higa, 33, of Volcano, died Oct. 31, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. She was born on Dec. 13, 1984 in Hilo.
Service to be held Nov. 10 at Ballard Family Mortuary Hilo. Viewing is at 10 a.m., service is at 11 a.m.
She is survived by daughter Briseis Higa of Hilo; parents Wallace and Pretty Makanui of Mt. View; brothers Dayton Quintal and Emi Quintal of Mt. View; sisters Leah Quintal and Ui Quintal of Pepeekeo; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kay Paik
Kay Kiyomi Jitchaku Paik, 94, of Hilo, died Oct. 21, 2018, at home. Born April 30, 1924, in Onomea, she was a retired account clerk for Hilo High School and member of Hui Okinawa and Haili Kumiai.
Friends may call at 3 p.m. Nov. 13 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 4 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by sons, Leonard (Karen Akiyama) Paik and Gary Paik of Hilo; daughter, Marylyn (Tim) Paik-Nicely of Arcata, Calif.; sisters, Marjorie Gushiken of Hilo, Aileen (Yoshio) Kuba of Honolulu, six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret Leith Ahuna, 88, of Hilo, died Oct. 31, 2018, at home. Born in Ola’a, she was a homemaker and a manager of a family farm in Panaewa.

She is survived by husband, Randolph K. Ahuna, Jr. of Hilo; sisters in-law, Peggy Leith and Eloise Pung of Hawaii; nieces, Jennifer Kameihaiku, Lynn (Matt) Leith-Bowden, Patricia (Paul) Hanohano and Harvelee (Casimir) Leite-AhYo; nephews, Philip Leith (Dez) Hooton, Crist (Odetta) Pung and Wendell (Susan) Leite, Jr.; numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.

Dennis Bangay
Dennis Rueben Bangay, 74, of Kealakekua, died Oct. 25, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu on July 21, 1944, he was a journeyman plumber for the State of Hawaii Department of Accounting and General Services (DAGS) and a U.S. Army veteran.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Nov. 17 at Daifukuji Soto Mission in Honalo. Memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. and lunch will follow. The family requests casual attire.
He is survived by his wife, Sharen Bangay of Kealakekua; daughter, Tara (Greg) Fournier of Las Vegas; son, Kenneth Kapono (Trisha) Bangay of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Randall (Yvonne) Bangay of Honolulu; sister, Corinne (John) Whitten of Kaneohe, Oahu; five grandchildren; several aunts and uncles; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ralph Austin Bard III, 79, of Hawi, died Oct. 25, 2018, at home. Born on May 28, 1939, in Charleston, West Virginia, he was an investment manager and cowboy.
