John Buchanan
Dr. John “Jack” Patrick Buchanan, 76, of Richmond, Va., died Nov. 2, 2018. He was an avid bridge player, having reached the level of Ruby Life Masters. He volunteered his services for the bridge communities in Richmond and in Kona and was appointed to the Goodwill Committee for both the district and national American Contract Bridge League (ACBL).
A celebration of life will be held 2-5 p.m. Nov. 11 at The Place at Innsbrook, 4036C Cox Rd., Glen Allen, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Buchanan.
He is survived by his partner of 34 years, J. Willard “Will” Williams; sister, Jill O’Leary of Howell, N.J.; nephew; and two grand-nephews.

Calvin Leslie
Mr. Calvin Kaleolani Leslie, 73, of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, died Oct. 8, 2018, at Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Kealakekua on Sept. 25, 1945, he was a retired housekeeper at the Royal Kona Resort.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 10 at Yano Hall in Captain Cook. A celebration of life will begin at 11 a.m. The family requests casual attire.
He is survived by his wife, Junalen Leslie of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Kellyann Naolani Leslie of Kailua-Kona; brother, Fred (Florence) Leslie of Hilo; sisters, Elaine (Thomas) Helmsteader of Florida, Madeline Leslie of Honolulu, Shirley (John) Baldado of Middle Keei; two godsons; one goddaughter; parents-in-law; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marcial Fuellas
Mr. Marcial “Sonny” Fuellas, 80, of Napoopoo, died Aug. 25, 2018, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in North Kohala on March 19, 1938, he retired as pest controller for the Hawaii State Department of Health, Vector Control. He was a member and past president of the Filipino Organization of Kona; a member of HGEA-AFSCME Local 152, and the Kona Bowling Association. He was a hospital corpsman in Kwajelein for Global/U.S. Army and Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Nov. 16 at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

Dwight Martin
Dwight Joseph Martin, 58, of Kealakekua, died Sept. 15, 2018, at the Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honokaa on Dec. 13, 1959, he was a coffee and macadamia nut farmer. He was a member of the HHH Motorcycle Club, Kona Marlins football coach, Pop Warner, Honaunau baseball coach.
Visitation will be held 9 a.m. Nov. 17 at the Kona Faith Center next to L&L Drive-In in Captain Cook; memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. and lunch will follow at the Honaunau Rodeo Arena. The family requests casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Mildred Martin of Kealakekua; sons, Keala Martin of Honaunau, Donovan (Alana) Martin of Kaloko; daughters, Christina (Justin Onaka) Martin of Honaunau, Courtney (Troy Gomes) Martin of Holualoa; brother, Dennis (Leona) Martin of Waimea; sisters, Darilyn Revell of Hawaiian Beaches, Lisa Martin of Hawaiian Beaches; one mother-in-law: Gertrude; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
