Velma Foster
Velma U’ilani Foster, 57, of Hilo, died Oct. 8, 2018, at Pohai Malama in Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker and previously employed by the Easter Seals West Central Base and Sodexo at UH-Hilo and a member of the Sure Foundation Church of Hilo.
A visitation will be held Nov. 12 at the Foster’s residence at 434 Ulu Mau Place in Hilo (Panaewa) from 10-11 a.m. with a brief celebration of life memorial to follow. Family requests casual or aloha attire, flowers welcome.
She is survived by sons, Keith (Emily Lux) Kipapa of Maku’u, Michael Steven Foster II of Hilo, and Kevin Lance Foster of Hilo; three brothers, Lani Leroi-Sanborn (Marilyn) Ahuna of O’ahu, Don (Sharon) Ahuna of Kea’au, and Gabriel (Sandy) Kipapa of Hilo; two sisters, Debbie Silva of Hilo and Naomi Keolanui of Hilo; three grandchildren, Makaya, Kimberly, and Greysen Kipapa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard Norman “Nomana” Gourley Jr., 39, of Greeley, Colorado, died Oct. 10, 2018, at his home. He was born May 5, 1979, in Kona.
Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Kona Palisades Recreation Center in Kailua-Kona for a gathering to share memories.
He is survived by parents, Sydney and Richard Gourley; brothers, James (Kanoe) Gourley and Jefferson Gourley, a niece Sunnie Rae Gourley all of Kailua-Kona; an aunt, Linda Gourley of Stokesdale, N.C., godfather Yoshimi Nakasone of Kohala, goddaughter, Elizabeth Soliz of Greeley and friends.
