Special Olympics West Hawaii takes home Panathalon baton
A journey of more than 7,500 miles ended with friendship and spirited competition for Special Olympics West Hawaii, but two individuals had another mission on their minds.
Francois Fouss and Benoit Chevalier, who are also associated with Special Olympics Belgium, helped unite teams from Belgium and West Hawaii via the Panathlon baton, a special baton holding the meaning of fair play and uniting through sport. Fouss and Chevalier were thrilled to present the Panathlon baton to Special Olympics West Hawaii and Ironman World Championship.
Special Olympics is a global sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics West Hawaii welcomes all the triathletes from around the world, especially their newest friends from Belgium — Fouss, Chevalier, and their ambassador of Special Olympics Belgium, Erik Bauwens.
