Beginning Oct. 8, North Kohala historian Boyd Bond will begin a series of three monthly “talk story” sessions on Hawaii’s history at North Kohala Public Library.
The first session at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 8 will focus on “The Four Kona Uncles and Other Advisors to Kamehameha I.” At the second presentation, Nov. 5, Bond will discuss the “Discovery of the Hawaiian Islands.” For the final program, Dec. 3, his talk is titled “Kamehameha V, Lot Kapuaiwa.”
Bond is a 6th generation descendent of early western settlers in Hawaii. He has lived on sugar plantations throughout the state.
