Mauloa celebrated at Kawaihae Harbor first week of October

To celebrate the 25 years of Mauloa, Na Kalai Wa’a has scheduled a sail around Hawaii Island for voyaging canoes Mauloa and Makali’i to mark this special occasion.

Weather permitting, the canoes will be at Kawaihae Harbor for school and community tours Oct. 1-5. Schools visits can be arranged between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and community members can visit 3-5:30 p.m. Activities will also include lauhala workshops, cordage workshops and aipono training for groups who schedule a time.
