KAILUA-KONA — No tsunami was triggered by a magnitude-6.6 earthquake that struck Monday morning southeast of the Loyalty Islands off the western coast of Australia.

The earthquake was recorded at 9:32 a.m. Monday. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said that based on all available data, a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is no expected and there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii.
