Knitting &Knitting Support meets from 12:30-3 p.m. every Tuesday with Gretchen Geisler, a lifetime knitter. This class is for all skill levels ages 10 to adult. Bring projects, get knitting questions answered and visit with other knitters. Beginners will be guided into a suitable project.

Chair Yoga with Kit Hill, a yoga enthusiast, is from 9:30-10:30 a.m. every Friday. This class is for those who need a gentle and slow yoga in a chair practice. The movements are designed to stretch and strengthen the body without standing or lying on a mat. There may be some easy standing poses behind the chair.

Scrabble Meetup gathers from 1:30-4 p.m. every Friday with Annabel Spielman. Word lovers of every age and skill level are encouraged to play this classic game with relaxed rules; dictionary use permitted. It’s a great way to retain and expand vocabulary, spelling, memory and observation skills in a congenial atmosphere.

Kumulau • Ho’ike will be From 4:30-6:30 p.m. this Friday with Dr. Mahealani Yamashita, CEO/director of Pe’ahi Education Group. UC Davis students seeking medical careers will share from their 5-week immersion experience in West Hawaii working with cultural practitioners as well as rural health care providers. Students have been learning about connection between culture and fostering health education in supporting healthier multi-generational communities.

Extraordinary Healing for Extraordinary Times hosted by Carol Hannum D.E.M. will meet from 1-2:30 p.m. this Sunday. Start feeling lighter, happier and healthier while learning about a technique that employs the power of words or “specially created phrases” to activate the quantum field for initiating improvements in health and well-being.

Beginner’s Yoga will be from 4-5 p.m. Sept. 11 and 18 with Kiyomi Falcon. Yoga has both preventive and therapeutic benefits. It increases body awareness, relieves chronic stress patterns and muscle strain, relaxes mind and body, centers attention, sharpens concentration and frees the spirit.

Hyperbarics 101 — Breathe Health with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy with Dr. Eric Mizuba, DC will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sept. 11. Learn about this therapy and how it promotes optimal health from the flower garden to the athletic arena. Attend this PowerPoint presentation about the modern science of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and how it promotes faster, stronger and sharper performance.

Caregiving Conversations will meet from 11 a.m.-noon Sept. 12 with professional caregiver Karyn Clay. Whether a caregiver by heart, hire or relationship, join fellow caregivers in sharing stories, support and inspiration.
