Behaviors exhibited by a sociopath

As the figurative noose tightens around Donald Trump’s neck, I think we’re way overdue for calling a spade a spade. Many have called Trump a narcissist, which is such an overused word these days. In fact, many politicians exhibit narcissistic behaviors, as do some of our friends and family.

What we’re really looking at with Trump is that he’s a sociopath. There is some behavioral overlap between narcissists and sociopaths, but Trump is at the severe end of the spectrum. “No, it’s not me, it’s you” is his go-to battle cry, and his criticism and retaliation are intense.

Sociopaths show a disrespect of law, order and the rights of others. Characteristics and behaviors include superficial charm, extreme narcissism, pathological lying, lack of guilt or shame, impulsiveness, infidelity, unreliability, being manipulative, paranoid, and more. Sound familiar?

Regardless of your political party, it’s time to face the music and get this dangerous man out of office. Please vote with a moral conscience at the next election.

New principal worth smiling about

Kealakehe High School has a new principal. Tuesday, after school, I told our new principal, Glenn Gray, that my school computer had broken two days in a row.

The principal looks down at me frowning and he says, “Debra, stop throwing your laptop on the ground.”

My concern disappeared into laughter. I asked the students outside if they knew how funny our new principal was and they all smiled and nodded their heads. Then I went to the store and told people about our new principal and they all laughed.

My favorite sound is laughter and any leader who can improve his workers with laughter is valuable to everyone around. God bless Glenn Gray and our school.

Delivery drops the ball by dropping bag

I have subscribed to your newspaper since I moved here years ago. I can understand not knowing if there is going to be rain and throwing newspapers without wrapping them, but when I went out for my paper this morning, I was not only astonished but angry that you would not bother to wrap my newspaper in a rain protective bag on a day that we have a hurricane forecast!

It’s been raining like crazy on and off for two days and my paper was soaked! Was this just laziness? This subscription is not cheap! Come one West Hawaii Today! So disappointed!

Totally befuddled

Since even before the primary, I have been puzzled and waiting. I am now beyond puzzled and done waiting.

Why our state legislators and CDP representatives are not part of an islandwide task force to put the county’s legislative aid package together is simply beyond me.

In November I intend to vote against all incumbents unless I learn that someone acted differently.
