Residents interested in exploring dairy-free cheese options can attend a special class from 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 25 at Malaai Garden on the Waimea Middle School campus.

Presenters will include plant-based advocate and dietician Vivienne Aronowitz and Daniela Penitenti, a cheese maker and food experimenter who learned to love cheese in her native Italy. Both will show how easy tasty options are to make using nuts such as cashews and macadamia nuts. The workshop will include recipes and food pairing ideas.

The class is $30 and limited to 15 people.
