“The Monster at the Heart of our Galaxy” is the title of the next Keck Observatory Astronomy Talk, scheduled from 7-8 p.m. July 27 at Honokaa People’s Theatre.
New developments in unraveling the mysteries of supermassive black holes will be shared by Andrea Ghez, director of the UCLA Galactic Center Group and a world-leading expert in observational astrophysics. He will explain why this year holds the promise of discovering how gravity works near a supermassive black hole, a new and unexplored regime for this fundamental force of nature.
