Ronald Aranita
Ronald “Ron” Manuel Aranita, 82, of Keaau, died on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born on January 25, 1936, in Kunia, he was a retired weather technician for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and was also a member of Keaau Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Keaau Senior Golf Club.
Visitation will be held from 8:15-9 a.m. July 6 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo; funeral service at 9 a.m.; burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua Section. Casual attire.
He is survived by, wife, Agustina Aranita of Keaau; daughter, Theresa Ann (Frank) Galati of Los Angeles, California; son, Paul Aranita of Anchorage, Alaska; grandson, Frank John Galati of Los Angeles, California; sister, Sister Rosita Aranita, C.S.J. of Honolulu, Oahu; sisters-in-law, Rose Aranita of Waipahu, Oahu, Marian Aranita of Los Angeles, California, Ligia Aranita of Colombia, Patricia Aranita of Louisiana, Jessica Aranita of San Diego, California and Arlene Aranita of Pearl City, Oahu; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.

Jewel Phipps
Jewel Clara Phipps, 94, of Kailua-Kona, died June 23, 2018, at her residence. Born Sept. 13, 1923, in Spearman, Texas, she was a homemaker and member of Kona United Methodist Church and Kona Seniors.

She is survived by sons, Terry (Loretta) Phipps of North Carolina, Mike (Kathleen) Martin of Florida; daughter, Becky (Bill) Walton of Kailua-Kona; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Satsuki Naito
Satsuki Naito, 82, of Ookala, died June 12, 2018, at her residence. Born in Paauhau on July 20, 1935, she was a housewife and a member of the Papaaloa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.

She is survived by daughter, Louise Naito of Honolulu; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Kazuo Yanagihara
Kazuo Yanagihara, 98, of Hilo, died May 26, 2018, in the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Hilo on Feb. 1, 1920, he was the co-owner of Nick’s Auto Repair Shop in Hilo.
Services held. No flowers. No koden.
He is survived by wife, Kinuko Yanagihara of Hilo; son, Casey (Jodie) Yanagihara of Hilo; brothers, Myron Yanagihara of Honolulu and Noboru Yanagihara of Hilo; sister, Dora Akina of Honolulu; sister-in-law, Sachiko Yanagihara of Hilo; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Michael Cowden
Michael Edward Cowden, 61, of Captain Cook, died June 22, 2018, at his residence. Born in Columbus, Ohio on Sept. 27, 1956, he was a roofer for Gold Coast Roofing.

He is survived by his sons, Rowan (Kaeliann) Cowden of Watsonville, CA, and Tyler Cowden of Capitola, CA.
