KAILUA-KONA — Trails and other areas of Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park will be closed Friday mornings during July.

The closures, which will be from 6 to 11 a.m., are needed to ensure public safety while helicopters are used to remove invasive, non-native vegetation at the North Kona park.

On Friday, the Kaloko area, including Kaloko Road and the Kaloko parking and picnic areas will be closed.

On July 13, the Honokohau area, including the visitor center and its parking area, the mauka-makai trail and sections of the coastal trail between Honokohau Harbor and Aimakapa shoreline will be closed.

On July 20, the Kaloko area, including Kaloko Road and the Kaloko parking and picnic areas will be closed.

On July 27, the Honokohau area, including the visitor center and its parking area, the mauka-makai trail and sections of the coastal trail between Honokohau Harbor and Aimakapa shoreline will be closed.
