In addition to a music camp, Waimea Elementary School (WES) is running an official DOE academic summer school program teaching students math and reading concepts through project based learning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program continues through July 3.
Students also receive a free, healthy breakfast and lunch that meet the federal nutrition guidelines for school meals. The meal program is also open to any child in the community up to 18 years of age, even if they are not enrolled in a program at WES. The meals are free and there is no registration or sign up.
